  • Lovely Mirrorless Camera!
Style: w/NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S
Great camera, moving from a D5000 to this. Autofocus is snappy. Functionality is great. More could be done on Nikon's part to integrate seamlessly with other providers such as Google Photos, but I guess, these are just software inconveniences. Works as prosumer DSLR. It would be nice if there was additional battery pack. But that's not a show stopper. The 24-70mm f/4 is super crisp and does much well even in low light or dark scenes. I can only imagine what a faster lens will produce. It doesn't come with a carry case, which is a little letdown at this price point. The weight is considerably more than a cropped camera, but descent enough to log around even with a kit 24-70mm. So far, I love the piece. Buy on sale and you're even great! ... show more

  • Low light king!
Style: Body Only
Excellent camera for lowlight photography when combined with the right lenses. I'm a concert photographer and normally I'm shooting at 4/1.8 to f/1.4 and on rare occasions f/2.8. This camera is amazing at the high iso's that I shoot at. This can be anywhere between 6400 and 20000. The camera is fast and mine has been reliable. My current shutter count is over 273,000 even though the shutter is rated for 200,000. I only use mechanical shutter for indoor concerts, and I use the electronic shutter for daytime or outdoor lighting. I do not get any banding at concerts with the mechanical shutter. I use this and the Nikon zf and I'm looking forward to picking up another Z6iii. The Z8 and Z9 are unusable for me as they only have an electronic shutter. ... show more

  • Great Mirrorless camera.
Style: Body Only
First mirrorless camera purchase, coming from a Nikon D5 and D500. I wanted the Z8 but couldn't justify the $2K more and the reviews were great on this body for the price. You need to lower the shots per shutter or you'll end up with 1000 shots quickly. Very light weight, little small if you have average hands, so I'll be looking at a battery pack if they have one like I did with my D500. The auto focuse is very quick, it has bird and jet settings which is why I bought this. Learning curve wasn't steep coming from my D5 body. ... show more

  • The High Resolution Electronic Viewfinder Makes All the Difference
Style: Body Only
Before this I owned a Sony a7 IV and from day one I hated shooting with it. Before that I had owned two Canon Rebel DSLR's back to back. I thought the Sony would be a huge upgrade, and specs-wise, it was. But the Sony EVF was awful and impossible to focus with my collection of manual focus lenses, even with peaking assist on. Other photographers told me I'd get used to it and of course an electronic viewfinder would be worse than an SLR but that's the sacrifice we make to go mirrorless. Also, color reproduction of the Sony files was just a little wonky compared to Canon and took extra steps in post to get looking good. After 4 years of barely using my a7 IV, I decided to try the Nikon z6iii and seriously, its 5.76 million-dot EVF makes all the difference (The Sony a7 IV's is 3.68m-dot). Sure it's still no DSLR viewfinder, but I can almost tell when something is actually in focus even without peaking turned on. With the a7 IV everything always looked equally pixelated. Shooting manual focus lenses with the Nikon z6iii is intuitive and enjoyable. That's the most important selling point for me. The Nikon menu system is not as well organized as my Sony or Canon was, and I do miss the extra configurable knob of the a7 IV, but these are minor annoyances that only took a week to get over. ... show more

Style: Body Only
Sold as new, but not new. Under closed inspection, I found one tiny scratch on sensor mirror. While I was waiting the order, the price jumped by $300.
