5 stars in advance because I really like this camera and the photos I get from it. But I'm still not sure I completely understand this thing :) I came from an old Canon APS-C DSLR, so the difference is huge. When I set everything correctly, catch the focus and don't screw up the exposure, the results are just beautiful. Sometimes I take a photo, look at it and think: yep, this is exactly why I bought a full-frame camera. The colors are also much nicer than I expected from Nikon. It is FAST too. For events, people, cats, street photography, basically anything moving – this is a completely different world compared to my old camera. But wow, Nikon does not make it easy. The menu is insane. There are so many autofocus modes, settings and combinations that after several weeks I still sometimes forget what I changed, use the wrong mode, and then wonder why the focus is doing something completely different from what I expected. Auto mode is especially weird. Honestly, my phone is more reliable in full auto. With the Nikon, if I actually tell it what I want, the result can be fantastic. If I just let it decide everything... good luck. And the physical controls are not much better. I really don't understand who designed the dials and button layout. The front dial inside the grip is especially annoying: it's weirdly hard to find when you actually want it, but somehow very easy to touch accidentally with your finger. The rear dial also gets bumped more often than I'd like. In general, the button placement just doesn't feel very natural to me. Maybe I'll eventually develop the muscle memory, but coming from Canon, this definitely feels like a step backward in ergonomics. I'm sure a lot of this is just me still learning the camera. There are so many options that I probably need a few months before I can really judge it properly. Connecting it to a phone is surprisingly nice once everything is set up. Bluetooth for location data and basic connection is convenient, and switching to Wi-Fi works well. But setting up all the Nikon apps, cloud stuff and synchronization? My compliments to whoever designed that maze. I still don't fully understand why Nikon needs so many different apps and utilities instead of just making one or two good ones. The first impression from the packaging wasn't great either. My box basically arrived wrapped in plastic before being forwarded to Armenia. There is a lot of empty space inside, the battery was completely dead, and of course Nikon doesn't include an actual charger anymore. So I was standing at the pickup point with my expensive new camera and couldn't even turn it on. Very Nikon experience. Also, this camera completely changed how I carry my gear. The body itself isn't crazy large, but modern full-frame lenses are tubes compared with the tiny pancake lenses I used before. I'm still experimenting with straps, clips and lens pouches. Still, after all of that, I'm very happy I went with Nikon instead of Canon this time. The Z system has a lot of really interesting lenses from Nikon, Tamron and Viltrox, and many of them are surprisingly affordable for the quality. So yes, 5 stars. I’m not sure what I can say, after owning Sony A7IV and Fuji XT5, I am really happy with Z6III, shutter is fast, battery is reliable, there’s basically no rolling shutter, the only thing missing is open gate. If you are in the fence on getting a nice hybrid for less than 2K USD, this is the one. ... show more

Fast, reliable, EXCELLENT low light performance. Once in awhile the autofocus can be finicky, especially at night, but it’s a very solid camera. Mine has been caught in a down pour a few times already and had no problems still shooting during and after. For 2k, it’s a good and fair deal The menus offer VERY extensive customization as well. First mirrorless camera purchase, coming from a Nikon D5 and D500. I wanted the Z8 but couldn't justify the $2K more and the reviews were great on this body for the price. You need to lower the shots per shutter or you'll end up with 1000 shots quickly. Very light weight, little small if you have average hands, so I'll be looking at a battery pack if they have one like I did with my D500. The auto focuse is very quick, it has bird and jet settings which is why I bought this. Learning curve wasn't steep coming from my D5 body. ... show more

The predecessor, Z6 II, was an exceptional camera to begin with. The video was acceptable, down-sampled 4K from 6K, it was sharp. The let down was the 8-bit 4:2:0 internal shooting. There wasn’t much latitude in post, so it wasn't a true enthusiasts hybrid camera. The Z6 II left shooters desiring a more videocentric camera. Now they have it here with the Z6 III, we’ve got the same 24.5mp resolution which is plenty, and exceptional for low light photography and especially video. True Z6 enthusiast didn’t ask for higher resolution since the Z8 covers that. We got the low light and now we the video features with 6K/60p internal raw at full sensor readout, great waveform, line-in, RAW, ProRES, H.265 and H.264 codecs. Amazing. You got the image quality, now you have the video. This camera is a perfect companion to your Z8 or as it’s own platform. With Pixel-Shift, it’s got landscapes covered. It’s small, it’s light, and it packs a punch well above its price level. In fact, you cant get these specs in a camera less than $4000 ... show more

I am extremely frustrated with the Nikon Z6III. Within the first year of ownership, the rubber grip on the camera body failed and broke, which is unacceptable for a high-end, expensive piece of gear. When I reached out to Nikon Support to resolve this, the experience was incredibly rigid. They initially categorized a basic hardware failure as "maintenance" rather than a warranty issue. Despite my request for a simple replacement part to fix the issue myself, Nikon repeatedly refused, citing "company policy" against providing parts for self-repair. Instead of a practical solution, they forced me into a process that requires paying to ship my camera to their service center for an "evaluation" where warranty coverage is not even guaranteed. Nikon is prioritizing bureaucratic policy over customer satisfaction. If you are considering this camera, be aware that you are on your own if the build quality fails within the warranty period ... show more
