Features

  • Painterly bokeh. Background objects can be transformed into compositional elements; points of light into smooth, soft circles.
  • Video workhorse. The compact size of the lens is ideal for use on a gimbal; the silent STM lens drive minimizes operational noises for fast, silent autofocus and suppressed focus breathing.
  • Low-light freedom. Capture more details at lower ISO and use faster shutter speeds with a wide f/1.4 aperture.
  • At home on all Z series mirrorless cameras. The full-frame/FX format NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 lens has a 52mm equivalent field of view on an APS-C size/DX format camera.
  • Close focus. Lens focuses as close as 10.6 inches from the subject for revealing details.

Description

The NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 lens is a natural wide-angle lens with a large f/1.4 aperture that cuts through low light and creates dramatic shallow depth-of- field. Ideal for landscapes and street shots, portraits and groups, it gives you beautifully blurred backgrounds along with edge-to-edge clarity and sharpness. A close focus of just 10.6 inches lets you reveal fine details. This is a lightweight and compact lens designed for the photographer or filmmaker.

  • Worth the buy
Great quality lense for the price point. I use it for engagement/couples sessions and it’s a nice alternative to my zoom lense.

  • Fantastic lens for low light
This has become my favourite lens that lives on my Nikon Zf. I use it constantly for photographing at a local brewery when they have things going on. Yes, there is fringing around bright light sources depending on how you are shooting with it but that is corrected within seconds in camera raw in photoshop. I am pleased with the auto focus speed, and I only use it at f/1.4. I highly recommend it for indoor photography, events, street photography, and very low light scenes. The build quality is just fine for my use. I have always found it rather silly that people get so hung up on things like " it feels cheap and has too much plastic etc etc etc" The thing is regardless of the lens housing, if it does what it is supposed to then real photographers aren't concerned with the housing. The right tool for the right job. If weather sealing is a must have there are other options. I have not missed a shot with this lens. ... show more

  • My favorite lens for everyday and travel use!
This lens rarely comes off my camera since I've received it. It's smallish size, fast AF performance, and amazing optical character makes it perfect for everyday photography, environmental portraits, and for me it makes a wonderful travel lens. I own several "S" lenses as well, and other than the lack of weather sealing, I haven't noticed any lack of performance, comparatively. I actually prefer the way these 1.4 lenses render images over the higher quality "S" lenses. Amazing bokeh and performance! ... show more

  • Excellent lens !!
I have whole slew of Nikon F mount lenses and for me Z is a travel kit with z6 ii 14 to 30 f4 , and 24 to 120 f 4 along with 85 1.8 lens all S line lens .. so I am spoilt for sharpness even when looking at the pictures through the camera screen on z6 II … The first picture I clicked wide open and looked on the camera screen was soft smooshy.. I was like , let me return the lens .. the softness was on par with me shooting off brand lenses on D90 … I wanted to get my D850 to use CFE card .. I updated the D850 to latest firmware and inserted the CFE which was in Z6ii … the pictures from z35 1.4 looked considerably sharper, when seen on D850 screen .. I was like let me edit the pictures.. when processed through Lightroom .. the files are gorgeous… the eyes are in focus, skin is smooth and the background is beautiful.. love my S line lenses but sometimes feel that they are harsh on human skin .. the micro contrast makes pores literally pop out on closeups … Don’t judge the lens when you see it on the camera screen when shooting raw !! ... show more

  • Best street lens
This has become my go-to lens when working the crowds in the street or performances in the small honky-tonks I frequent. Fast but not light i find the weight helps steady the lens at slow shutter speeds. In all, I am quite impressed, especially since its price is less than Nikon's 1.8 version of the same lens. ... show more

  • Great Lens!
Immediately took it out and used it for some shots in a dark room with a singular light source. The photos came out sharp. I can’t wait to use this as my everyday driver.
