  • Great zoom camera
I purchased this before going on a trip to Alaska. It did a great job at photographing bear, sheep, moose, fox and caribou from long distances away. The clarity is awesome. Even though is has some stability built in, when taking the zoom out to a max, you will need a tripod to keep things steady. It was great at takings video/pics from different distances. The other tourist we were with were amazed at how close I could get. I took a picture of a glazier about a half mile away, then zoomed in on it to see the crystal formation on the glazier (as if I were 50 feet away). ... show more

  • Great camera! I take it everywhere I go!
Awesome camera. I use it frequently. The zoom is amazing. I love taking pictures of the moon as well as other planets that line up with it. Also great for nature photography as well... Birds, reptiles, scenery, etc.

  • My Nikon DSLRs were way better, but this is good for general photography with long distance zoom.
It was time to sell my D850 since I no longer have a studio and I decided to get this bad boy for an all around camera that I could use to take pictures of just about anything. The build is solid. Quality Nikon. The results? Eh, just so so. If you're looking to shoot maxed out, you'll definitely need a monopod to hold this thing steady enough to take good photos. The sensor is super tiny so you can't blow images up very much. The image quality itself doesn't meet the standards of any of my previous Nikon DSLR cameras. So why 4 stars? Because it's an overall good shooter that can do relatively wide angle all the way to 3000mm and if you know what you're doing, you can do fun things with it. Zoom quality: You can't go wrong with this camera if you're looking for the biggest, baddest super zoom of all time. ... show more

  • Great camera and can produce amazing results
This is my first new camera after using multiple used cameras and I can confidently say it's worth the purchase of you don't already have something similar to it. If you're used to Nikon then the controls will come to you naturally and the fit in hand is also great. I did get the tripod mount support from JoelSchat on Etsy cause it does want to rock forward a bit on the stand so I'd recommend that too. ... show more

  • Great camera for wildlife and mountains
I got this Nikon COOLPIX P1100 after using a small Sony compact camera for years. I have to say I absolutely love this P1100. I'm not a professional photographer by any means but this Nikon has really made me enjoy taking photos even more. I do have to say a proper study tripod and a wireless remote are pretty much a must have for this camera due to its size and weight. Keep in mind when this camera is zoomed out at its max 125x even the gentlest of touch to the zoom in/out physical controls will register as vibrations if you're recording a video; so for this reason a wireless remote is a must have. ... show more

  • Will cost you to return
DO NOT BUY!!! Item doesn’t come with everything needed to charge or use the item!! Then I wanted to return after reading the Amazon reviews and seeing terrible quality and had to pay for return shipping!! Such a disappointment !!

  • Binoculars w/ a camera
This is a fun camera and can do some amazing things. It's a great substitute for binoculars or a spotting scope and I've seen some good results for folks that put in the effort. But the images are pretty soft and look much worse than my iphone. It sort of looks like you took a picture with an old digital camera. I wouldn't want to share/post them. I was hoping to use this as a second camera during trips for quick, long range shots when they came up. But that's not really possible. Nothing beyond 2000mm was easy, particularly keeping your subject in focus or even in the frame. You need bright sunlight and a tripod and that is pretty limiting. You also need very little movement from both you and the subject, and that also doesn't work well with wildlife. ... show more

  • Wow, what an amazing zoom lens!!!
I bought this camera for an upcoming trip that I am limited on weight and cannot bring my usual camera/lenses. I wanted a super zoom lens so I don’t have to get too close to the wildlife I want to film. The pictures I took to test out the camera are all from my yard. The birds pictures were taken across the yard on “bird mode” without a tripod. The moon pictures were taken with a tripod on “moon mode”. The pictures turned out very clear. I was amazed how easy it was to get the amazing shots of the moon. The only con I can think of is the camera is a little awkward due to the size. My advice if buying the camera be sure to buy a memory card, battery charger, and cable to to tranfer photos to phone, ipad, etc. at the time of of purchase so you can begin taking pictures asap!!! ... show more
