If you hold a genuine Wilcox side by side with this, you’ll notice a few minor cosmetic differences, and I’m sure the materials aren’t as high quality on this replica. Having said that, it fits every mount I’ve tried it on solidly with no slop or rattle. I abused it to see if I could get it to fail too. I dropped it from 6ft onto sold flooring, hit it with a mallet, and wrenched on it with a very good amount of force. It never budged. I’m confident enough with it and a couple of secondary retention bungees that I run duals with it. If you want something that works without paying $500 this unit is a great choice. ... show more

I used this mount to attach my homemade PVS-14 to a helmet, and it performed really well for what I needed. The mount stayed rock solid with no wobble or shifting even during movement and it has all the key adjustments (tilt, fore/aft, height) to get the optic perfectly aligned with my eye. It felt rugged enough for rough use without any issues holding up. The only downside is the plastic caps covering the adjustment points, they look and feel pretty cheap compared to the rest of the aluminum construction. It’s a minor cosmetic/feel thing since they don’t affect function, but upgrading those to something more premium would make the whole mount feel higher-end. Overall, great value for a reliable mount that gets the job done. If you’re running a PVS-14 on a helmet and want something sturdy without breaking the bank, this works. ... show more

For a fraction of the price of what it’s imitating. This mount works amazing. There is some wobble, but if you know what you’re doing you can almost eliminate it entirely. Finish could be a little smoother but still good quality all throughout.

Not sure I would trust these with my quality NVG’s, but maybe. They seem pretty solid, locking mechanisms work just like the real Wilcox. It truly seems like a great replica.

I originally purchased two of these (one black, the other tan). Night and day experiences with each of them, which could be due to a number of factors (quality/tolerance control, testing, etc.) but I won't speculate here. First, the good. Overall build quality is solid. Sturdy mount. The black version I have is really good (five stars) and locks up to both helmet and NVG positively with minimal wiggle. In fact the black mount is even tough to disengage, which I appreciate. Now the not so good. The tan unit I received at first blush appeared every bit as solid as the black unit I got, but link up to helmet mount is tough to engage and also the locking tongue does not appear to come out as far as the black unit, with some concern of slippage under duress. The tan unit also will not engage the NVG dovetail "spade" mount no matter what I try. I even resorted to attempting to shave off the side walls inside the dovetail to create engagement, no joy. Also the NVG locking trigger itself doesn't appear to extend (by almost half) as far as the black unit I received, which may also be attributing to the failure to lock. I've included a few pictures for explanation. Overall I really like the build quality of the unit, but the tolerances on the tan unit I received just aren't there to work properly with the NVG dovetail mount or the helmet mount. ... show more

Great product for the money. It is slightly loose compared to the Wilcox version. The biggest issue is the locking mechanism that holds the mount shoe. It is extremely difficult to release. It takes great strength and technique to get it to release.
