OK, I've only set the tent up inside my house to check the quality, dimensions and how the components went together. 1. It IS freestanding. Some manufacturers falsely claim their tent is. (I own one in that category). 2. Very thoughtful design including contrasting color tabs, cords, buckles and clips! Where you would wish there were a tie back, zipper, guy line etc., it's there. 3. If you've EVER pitched a tent in the rain you would know how handy the external frame and attached netting underneath is in keeping the interior dry! (This is the main reason I chose this tent.) 4. The other benefit of the external frame is in set-up time. Once you've set the poles and attached the clips to the poles, you're done with the set-up! With conventional tents, you still have to position and attach the fly which, if solo, it can be challenging, especially if there's a little breeze. 5. In summery, The poles fit together properly. (I might put a little wax on the connection points.) The seams, best I could tell visually, were all sealed. The weight was spot on 5#, 8oz. The interior dimensions were accurate for the width, and height but MAYBE A COUPLE INCHES SHORT ON THE LENGTH. The mesh netting appeared to have small enough openings to block the dreaded no-see-ums. The packed size was accurate at a claimed 17" x 6.3" x 6.3", at least initially. When I took it down and re-packed I got about 8 1/2" dia x 18". Wishes: I wish, at the same cost, it could be 4 to 4 1/2# and more compact but, at this cost, I'm very pleased with my purchase! ... show more

I’m a lifelong backwoods camper and these are my initial impressions after setting this bad boy up in my yard: -well made with seemingly high quality materials. Appears durable. -very easy to set up (2-3 minutes) -spacious enough for me and my 6’2” husband to sit inside comfortably. This is a true 2-person tent -tears down just as easily and fits back in the bag without wanting to tear your hair out. I am notoriously bad at getting gear back in its bag and I had no issues. Will be taking this on its maiden voyage in 2 weeks and will update review once its field tested ... show more

Night Cat 2 person w/foldable double poles is awesome! I'm an 85 year old Army Retiree, and I wanted to go camping again. I purchased this tent, a low cot and sleeping pad and took off for the unknown. Well, not really unknown. I'd been there before in a travel trailer. Anyway, at my age it was a great trip, to prove I could still do it. Anyway, this tent goes up in about 10 minutes for me. It fits back into the bag, too! I set it up in my living room just to make sure I could do it right. Piece of cake. If you take care of this tent, it will take care of you. Just spread it out flat, arc the ends of the double-pole down into the four places in the corner loops. Then hook the tent clips to the double poles, one at a time around the tent, then the top center clip to the double pole swivel point and it's set up! The shorter crosswise pole finishes it off across the top. You can pick up the tent and reposition it, if you wait until you've got it up to stake the floor down. The 2-man tent was large enough for holding me and my extra gear, too. It rained the last two days of a week-long stay, and it didn't leak, except at one lower corner, and it was a very tiny leak. Seam sealer did the trick after I got home. Maybe I should have tested it before I went camping. But I couldn't afford the water bill. God could. When it rains steady, you get a lot of water over it. And a camping trip in rainy weather might be the best way to really check it out ahead of time. Having two opening sides makes it really nice for ventilation, but I had one of them up against a tree, so I never opened the zipper to go out that direction. The zippered openings worked great! The zippers have pulls on the inside and out and work flawlessly. The screening is perfect, all the way around you, to keep no-seeums away. And the "bathtub" sides help to keep out the creepy-crawlies. Actually, the whole tent is screening except the floor. The rainfly is what makes it a "tent". Wonderful design! The floor could be a little bit thicker, but that would add weight. I put some thin wood strips under the cot legs, because I worried that being there for a week they might wear holes in the floor. I did use a 6 x 8 walmart tarp for the ground cover. And I think putting one inside on the floor would be great also, but there's the weight thing to contend with. The tent stakes are the good ones, too. Plenty of them, with some extra line to secure it in high winds. If you want to do some by-yourself-camping, this is a perfect tent. I want to try it in the snow sometime this winter. .. if I still have the guts. Sorry, I didn't take pics. I highly recommend this tent! ... show more

Ok I got this tent in and opened it up everything is there quality is excellent in my opinion the tent packs up small enough for my liking to use backpacking. Set it up in the rain to test. Mine did not leak I left it up all day in the rain. Also yes it fit back in the stuff sack well it is tight but that’s fine with me. ... show more

Terrible, worst tent ever, directions are bad, it comes with a rain fly, which is very seldom ever used. it should state that the fly is to remain on at ALL times, very misleading.. You said you were going to send a replacement, what is the status on this?
