My daily runs typically start sometime between 4:00am and 4:30am while it's still dark outside. A long time ago, I picked up a headlamp with the goal of finding my way around more easily, but I came to realize that the benefits provided by the headlamp were mainly for those around me rather than for myself, and since cyclists don't typically use the trails at such an early time of day I stopped using it unless I found myself running in an unfamiliar area while on a work trip or vacation. However, in my attempt to keep up my outdoor running this past Winter, I found myself more frequently using shoveled roads with the occasional service truck out and about during the second half of my runs, a prime time for increased visibility. The two key things I like about this LED slap band are its custom, snug fit and the ease of switching between the 5 light modes. Some might be interested in knowing, however, that there's a little quirk when switching between these that isn't mentioned in the product description here or product packaging. When I click through quickly, all 5 light modes are available, but when I click through slowly, only the first 3 light modes are available ("red flash", "blue flash", and "red and blue flash"). As this doesn't bother me, I'm still rating this product five stars. The only other review here so far expresses the concern that a full charge might not last much longer than their typical 45 to 50 minute run, but the product description here states that there's a "12 hours max runtime". As you can see from my nearby photo, the product labeling explicitly states that runtime depends on light mode selection, with "red flash" and "red and blue flash" being the only light modes that provide this max runtime, and "blue lighting" at the opposite end of 2 hours 30 minutes.

This armband light is perfect for my night runs or scooter/bike rides. Lightweight and pretty bright. And the charge lasts the length of my runs (sometimes 2 hours) but they last way long after my run is over. But I just recharge it after every use and it has never not worked. Very easy to use, just unroll it and slap it on my upper arm or wrist and it automatically curls on to you. Love that it's rechargeable with no batteries to hassle with. Has different settings from a static (always on) light to some different flashing settings. I will be getting another one to put in the car just for those emergencies if I ever have to change a tire at night so traffic can see me. Overall a great simple to use and wear body light for my night activities on the road! Definitely recommend!

I love the idea of this and will keep this within my EDC, like other reviewers have said, it isnt that bright, and the light decreases in strength as it goes further away from the battery area. But, it has many uses and is great to have around, plan on wearing it if I ever need to step out of my vehicle on the road or as a way to flag someone down for help!

This is a nice little slap band that lights up and has three different lighting modes. It's a nice layer of security for when you're biking/riding a scooter/jogging late at night and want to increase your visibility. The biggest drawback to this is that it just doesn't stay on my arm. It's too small. That'd okay though because I purchased it to go around the stem of my electric scooter. Giving me a light that wraps all the way around, flashes, and gives me visibility for cars coming at me from the side. If you're purchasing this for your arm, just be mindful of the size. It would work better for women than men, but your arms will need to be quite small for this to stay put. Includes a charging cord which is nice but at this point I have so many, it's a bit wasteful in my opinion. If your purchasing stuff like this, chances are good you already have a cord with the right adapter.

I have run in some night races and also done a lot of night road cycling where I have used various lights to make myself visible to vehicles. In previous lights that I have tried, two have fallen off me without me realizing it. One was a pain because I had to find a place that allowed me to clip it on. I'm giving this one five stars because: 1. It goes on fast and easy with the "slap bracelet" approach, and fits my arm easily (and many larger arms). 2. Is stays put. 3. It's light and doesn't tighten while I run. 4. It has red blinking, blue blinking, red and blue blinking, red on, and blue on modes - love the options because most of the time I just want a solid light that won't bug me, but sometimes, a little more spazzing lighting feels safer. 5. It's rechargeable and comes with a little charger. 6. When I tested this outdoors at night, it was very visible, even when it wasn't fully dark.

I run in the mornings before my day starts, and this poses a challenge during winter when the mornings can be dark at 7 am. I have reflective vests and bands, but I find them to be not as effective as the snap-on LED light band, which lights up brightly and has various setting to alert the drivers in the dark. The snap-on feature is like kid's snap-on arm band that you get as a party favor, but this band is large and long enough to wear it on my upper arm or my ankle. The band is light and does not slip from my arm when I run. The band will get quite sweaty when worn directly against the skin, which I expected, but I wiped it down with a wet towel after the run. Not sure if this device will start to smell after a while from the sweat. The battery life is good for my run, which lasts about 45-50 minutes, and I am sure it will last a lot longer than that, but I did not test to see how long it will last. I think the best feature I like about the band is the versatility. It can be worm on my arm, my ankle, or simply hung on my backpack loop, when I am not using the band. Plus I can change the light options from just blinking red to blue to steady or to alternate red/blue.
