I used this for a rer facing camera to match my existing front facing Nextbase. Hardwiring was relatively easy sice there is a fusebox in the trunk of my car (SAAB 93) and a wiring set from Amazon was easy to fit by piggybacking to an existing fused circuit. Only "problem" - more an annoyance, is the suction cup to fix the unit to the rear windscreen just doesn't do the job. The unit comes with a couple of sticky pads to use instead, but initial setting up and positioning of the camera to get the right view requires some movement of the camera - difficult with sticky pads. ... show more

I just received it since my last dash cam from different brand is dead, and I already like the new one! I would love to give five stars… but one thing needs to be mentioned. The suction cup is reeeeeeeaaaally bad. I wiped the suction cup, wiped the windshield glasses, pushed & squeezed the suction cup as hard as I can, and pressed the button to make sure it’s secured. And it always, ALWAYS, fell. Even without the cam (it was charging in my house, and the second day before I installed it back… the suction cup itself fell.) Now I’m using the sticky tape from this product, but… I’d like to use the suction cup just in case if I need to move it. Otherwise, for a first-week user, I’m pretty happy for what I have and what I saw. ... show more

I use two of these cameras for my truck. If you travel over 45 mph it barely reads license plates unless it is select distance for a decent amount of time. I use 64 MB memory card and if I don't save it on the computer I simply reformat the card. It will hold about 7 hrs driving high quality recording time before needing reset or cleared unless you travel on bumpy roads all day. Make sure to use cord holders so the cords don't get in your way and or interfer with other driving habits. Don't leave in direct sun light for over half hour or you will have a white screen and the quality of recording at night will almost disappear by half. I do that only for front camera my rear camera is safe from direct sunlight. ... show more

What I wish I knew There is no app or connectivity. Reviewing videos isn’t all that easy. The ‘reverse camera’ feature is not reversed so it’s not really useable as a reversing camera, which is also picture & picture so it’s a very small frame on an already small screen. It’ll do what I bought it for, but it’s much less than hoped for ... show more
