This is a really nicely made and well engineered Rivet Nut gun. I have another rivet nut tool made by Astro which uses a socket drive, but this tool is a really great / simple addition. It worked particularly well with stainless M4 rivet nuts. The overall kit is great. The mandrills are all high quality. I will say that setting up the tool takes a bit of time to understand and to get it dialed in; however, once you do it works beautifully. I had the most luck taking the entire thing apart and then adjusting it while putting it back together. That works well. Add some oil to all the surfaces also. One thing I really like about this tool is you can feel how the rivet nut is squeezing down. You can also thread the nut in a bit during the squeezing process and gain additional installation squeeze. I used this tool one a very delicate sheet metal item and the ability to feel the installation of the nut was very helpful. All in all just a fantastic tool.

I ordered an air conditioner for an rv and the factory forgot to press the rivit nuts into plate that holds motor. So instead of sending the unit back and waiting weeks for replacement or repair i bought this rivit nut tool it has both metric and SAE rivit nuts which is great becausethe AC was made in China(what isn't nowadays) and i assumed the bolts were metric but was nice to have th SAE type just in case.. I have another one that is the longer straight type(for leverage), but it wouldn't fit in the location I needed. I ordered this one and the right angle allowed me to insert and press into holes with ease. Definitely great for tight locations, a little harder to squeeze than the high leverage straight one but definitely a great addition to toolbox.

I was in the middle of a job at the High end off road shop I work at. We needed a specific sized nutsert to go above an airbag for a roof rack. I saw these were small enough to work without sacrificing rigidity and strength. I ordered the product at 4pm it arrived at my doorstep the next morning at 8am so I was able to go to work with it and use it right away. The handle seems small compared to traditional nutsert tool. It still isn’t very hard to crimp the nutsert though and for things like side step or the photo I proved on a UTV frame, this tool can get literally almost anywhere and do a good job once it’s there. I’ve been on all the tool trucks, I don’t see anything close to this small and accessible of a product. Even if you only need it once every 5 years. Buying this one will let you have one of the best I’ve seen out there and the case it comes in with the selected nutserts it also comes with this kit will get ya going and keep ya going even for me In a full time professional job where we use these a lot. I haven’t even run out of of size nutserts and I believe it comes with about 8 choices.

I needed to replace a brake line union mounted to the frame rail of my 21 year old truck, and rather than drill out the rusted bolt in a tight area, I sawed off the old union and mounted the new union within an adjacent hole in the frame. I used one of these inserts with a new bolt and it made the job so much easier than tapping threads, etc. You really need to be Schwarzenegger-handed to do this with a single hand, especially when you're contorted in a tight spot under a car. The tool fit in the installation area, but I needed two hands to get the insert properly set. Since the tool fit in the space, I'm completely fine with it taking more effort or strength to use. This is a great tool for the money, but the kit it comes in has some really dumb shortcomings that would be easy to remedy. Only one of the bags containing inserts was resealable. The rest were in the kind of crinkly plastic "bags" (wrappers) that you would find around a McDonald's Happy Meal toy. This means that all your inserts will get mixed up after the first use, and there's no dimension stamped onto each insert to identify what size it is. The kit's case doesn't have nearly enough compartments to separate the different sizes of inserts, so rebagging them was the only practical option. The compartments are basically useless in their current setup. I spent 15 to 20 minutes bagging the inserts by size in small resealable ("controlled substance") bags and labeling them by dimension, which was time I needed to finish the job before it got dark in November. If they spent 5 cents more for resealable bags, it would save a lot of frustration. Better yet, provide the correct number of compartments in the tool case. The instructions are tiny and there is a step missing, which increased the learning curve and also cost me time. Please spend 5 cents more on larger instructions with better illustrations. I'm very literate, but reading a sentence three times to figure out how it physically applies to the tool components is frustrating. Show me decent illustrations that don't require a jeweler's loup of how the individual components go together. In spite of all this, I do love the tool and it's working out great.

This is a decent kit. materials are of high quality. it works well for smaller rivits, but large rivits require a lot of force. if you're going to use larger rivits, you may want to consider more leverage with a bigger device.

I needed to install some rivnuts for an install but have never needed them before and wanted to get a simple kit to have on hand for the rare times I would need it. I am really impressed with the quality and completeness of this kit for the price. It was my first time using rivnuts and it only took a few minutes to sort out and understand the tool. It worked perfectly on the first try and I may be using these more often now that I see how convenient they are. This may not be the kit for someone needing this on a daily basis, but for DIY or occasional use, this kit is hard to beat.
