However a few months later we had a devastating flood in Kentucky, everything was destroyed. Ordered a second one, it was fine for a short while, then had issues. I returned it and ordered this one.     • ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
I bought this laptop knowing the camera was 720p and didn't expect much, but this thing was atrocious. Completely blown out, nothing but all blue or all orange hue with no way to adjust. Completely unusable. Laptop was slow considering how much RAM had been "upgraded" and the error messages started happening right out of the box. Decided to return it only to find out that doing a full factory reset wasn't working. Every route, every setting, every option DID NOT delete my personal data or files and resulted in the same error message over and over again. Was forced to return the unit with my personal data intact. Honestly, at this point I'm even questioning if this was an authentic Hewlett Packard computer. What a shame ! ... show more

    • Excellent laptop. Microsoft selling practices ruin the experience
So far I am very happy with the HP laptop. However, Microsoft is constantly trying to sell its 365 and cloud services in an unrelenting manner. After files were transferred from my older machine, the "free" Onedrive storage stated to overfill, threatening to lock all my files. Then, my Office product would not transfer and I can only edit files on line, not on my computer. Buying a subscription to their 365 product would solve that. I don't really need that much capacity or capability (this computer has 1 TB of storage). I don't need Powerpoint, extensive spreadsheet capability or even sophisticated word processing (I'm retired). But with Microsoft's hard sell approach, I might have considered a Chromebook, since they want to force you to work through their servers. ... show more

The computer does not have touch screen. The wide screen is nice. This is a middle-tier HP computer according to one HP rep. I have been pleased. Someone contemplating buying one ought to consider where it is in the life cycle of the computer. In other words, has this computer been out for a long time. Is a replacement model coming out soon. Labtop is s super fast, has plenty of memory, I use multiple apps and programs while hearing music has slowed down, use it for school, good battery life, touch screen is a must makes me search faster and easier when taking down notes

    • Know Your Display Needs
This is a revised review. I was very happy with this laptop at first, but I thought there was something wrong with the display colors. Certain websites looked washed out, and I spent many hours on the phone with HP Support, even sending the laptop to a repair center at one point. It turns out that this model only supports 6 bit color, not 8 bit, which should have been explained on my first support call. Instead, they spent hours by remote, trying to fix something that was unfixable. It was shockingly bad support from HP, and it came as a real surprise to me that modern laptops can vary so much in their display quality. I ended up returning this computer for one with a better display, and the seller was very cooperative in processing my refund. Again, the laptop itself was very good, and 8 bit color is displayed on an external monitor. But if you are using this for creative work and need true colors, just beware of the hardware limitations.
