I baught this unit because of all the reviews, it got great reviews. it was a bit bigger then I had first wanted I was looking for half this size but all the ones I liked got too many bad reviews, so I went with this one. About 3 times what I wanted to spend but I'm very pleased I did. I filled it immediately with no problem so I'm glad I got this size. First I was going to buy this through Amazon prime free shipping but was surprised to see a $200 sales tax I guess because Amazon now has a wharehouse in my state. so I saw for the same price on Amazon through Overstock.com with free shipping and no tax it took a bit longer then I would have got it from Amazon but a week wait to save over $200 was worth it. Overstock was awesome they sent me prior all instructions for the shipping and receiving what to look for , a whole check list before I was to sign off, as well as if I was rushed by the carrier what to write on the shipping order to protect myself and the shipper. Overstock used a excellent shipping company. They called when it arrived and set a day to deliver within a 4 hour time frame the driver called me the morning of and had me first on the list. Now knowing this was shipping across the entire country I was expecting it to be trashed like most heavy packages are. Well he opens the back door of a sprinter step van not a tractor trailer and it was standing on the tail in mint condition as far as the box was. He slid it off onto a hand truck and brought it up two steps onto my porch and I asked if he could do one more step into my foyer and he did with no problem. I gave him a good tip. The shipping box was in perfect condition on a palette this unit is a bit heavy 200lbs but not hard to move with two people. When I uncrated it it was the same in perfect mint condition packaged with foam all around. I had to install the handle and remove th plastic on the glass. The Door is reversible but was fine for my application. I slid the unit off onto a hand cart and wheeled into place. This can be installed into a wall or cabinet or just free standing. Please note before you hand truck or move it be aware that there are refrigeration condenser lines exposed underneath towards the front you can damage these easily truck from the back or slide onto a flat dolly and be carful. My unit arrived up right so there was no need to let stand over night by the time I positioned it and installed the handle I leveled it with the adjustable four feet, I sat mine on felt furniture sliders and it's sitting on my hard wood floor. So it was about 2 hours I plugged it in and I couldn't even hear it running, so I had to kneel down behind it to see if it was on and I slightly heard the compressor running. Extremely quite. I opened the door and the inside fans were running very quiet too. This unit pulled down in temp in 15 min it is very well made all quality stainless on the outside front the sides and back are painted black metal the glass door is solid and heavy and opens so smoothly it's also has a uv tint in it to block the suns rays if it's near a window so that your wine won't spoil. The shelves are very high quality all beech wood on solid ball bearing rails that roll out smoothly and when pushed in all the way they actually have a click position that holds the shelf in place, you have to press in pass the stopping point to feel this happen, at first I thought it was something wrong with the shelf then realized all the shelves have this neat little feature. Please remember this unit is a two zone unit with the controls in the middle where the unit separates the zones and the upper one is the colder zone for all your whites and champagne and the lower is the warmer zone for all your reds. I'm not sure why they designed it this way because cold air is heavier and falls and warmer air rises but it works fine and it is separated by the control center but for in front of it inside the glass door the air can travel down. After setting the units temp. I noticed that there are two temp readings one that is the temp you set and the other next to it is the actual temp of the refrigerator from a digital thermometer which is a nice feature . Also the amber leds are controlled here as well and really look awesome they are 3 settings full bright, half brightness and full off . And they really look great, much better and more classy then the blue you see on the other units. Very high end expensive looks to show its quality. The one odd thing I did noticed that when you set the temp to a setting lets say 55 the thermometer right next to it immediately reads that temp no matter what temp you set it at upper or lower it does that. Now belong In The refrigeration business most of my life I know that just doesn't happen it takes time for you to see the temp change to your set temp. The same as you set your heat or a/c in your house . This bothered me it almost seemed they did this on purpose to try and fool,the average user so that they always see the temp read exactly what it's set at so the user is satisfied that it's accurate. If you set your heat in your hous to 75 and it's 70 in your house it will take an hour or more before you see the thermostat rise in temperature, it won't change as soon as you set it, well this unit does and that's just impossible. So I figured their doing that from all the complaints that people make that the temp on most of these wine coolers are not very accurate, as to your home fridge is. I've seen so many complaints that " i set the unit at 50and it's only going down to 55 or seti it to 46 and it's reading 42 so to get rid of these frivolous complaints it seem the manufacturers made it read of what ever you set it al immediately when you set it. So I took a high end thermometer digital as well as a red alcohol glass thermometer and tested both zones I placed the thermometer just behind the glass door so I could read it without opening the door. Well even with the strange adjustment reading this thing is very accurate. Let's understand no system is ever accurate to to exact temp, Never! There always fluctuations when the compressor shuts off or a defrost cycle. So if you read 3-6 degrees either way it's working fine , if you want to have your fridge more accurate to the temp you want you have to make adjustments and watch it over a few days with a full box or close to it. You can't get an accurate reading when it's empty because you have nothin in it to help hold the temperature, an empty fridge will fluctuate drastically cause there no load or anything to stabilize the air temp. I ran mine for a week and after seeing the temp difference of a actual reading to what I had set I made minor adjustments up and down till I got it to hold as close to the temp I was looks for and this unit is doing it perfectly. I have no complaints. You can fit a lot of bottles of wine by staggering them every other way on the shelf neck in bottom out, and so on. I think I got 6 or 7 bottles on each shelf. Just remember it really won't fit magnum bottles but it will fit larger whites and champagne on the wider shelves. Please note when you slide in and out a full shelf of wine, it's pretty darn heavy so it will sag a bit so when sliding it back in you may have to lift up just a slight amount to help clear or scrape against the lower shelf. This is just commen sense as to they put the shelve very close together as to fit the most bottles. So it is tight. Also the shelves are removable you just release the side clips and the shelf pulls right out if you want more room for bigger bottles and your not storing that many bottles. Last thing this unit comes with a small plastic cup designed to fit on any shelf into the wood slots so you can fill with water to add moisture to the box to help your corks from drying out. Wine should be kept in a cool moist environment. Well I hope this review helps your decision in buying. Again I'm completely satisfied with this purchase and to note it's been about two months that I had it, I can't tell you how long it will last since I didn't get to that point yet.

This is a very nice wine cooler. It looks good, it's very quiet and the temperature control works well when you realize how it works. The temperature setting is apparently the temperature of the air that is delivered to the rear of the cabinet. The temperature of the wine can be 5-10 degrees warmer depending on where you measure the temperature. The warmest temperature measured is near the door. I spent some time measuring the temperature at the bottles and adjusting the setting after waiting several hours for the bottle temperature to settle, Once set, the temperature is very stable. The takeaway from this is not to believe the temperature readout on the front panel is the temperature of your wine. Now the damage issues: The first unit arrived with the outer box soaked in something that looked like motor oil. I refused delivery and re-ordered. The second unit arrived with no damage to the outer box or the inner box but the cabinet was damaged in the back and the top right rear corner; the grill in the front was pushed in on the right side and the door was detached from it's hinge points. I asked for a replacement grill and probably would have put up with the other cosmetic damage but NewAir Customer Service convinced me to swap out the cooler for another one. I re-used the shipping package for the swap out. The cooler is heavy, so re-packing is not easy. Summary This is a good looking, quiet wine cooler. It comes well packed and the damage issues mentioned above are a bit of a mystery unless the damage happened before the coolers were packaged for shipment. NewAir Customer Service is excellent. I enthusiastically recommend NewAir and this particular wine cooler.

Have had the product for about one week. Only problem was the height size, their height minimum clearance assumes the feet are off, so I had to slide it into my space without the feet, but it is fine. As other reviewers have said, the beech wood feels flimsy but it does the job and is stronger than it appears. The natural color looks great, but be warned that it is easy to stain.I had a screwtop daily wine that I didn't realize was not completely tightened and it dripped onto the wood overnight, I stained all of the lower level shelves - a darker color is preferable. I'll have to sand and stain to make it look decent again. Product is quiet, very quiet. Temperature is spot on both in the upper and lower zones. There is enough room in the lower level that I decided to put beer and soda on the top level. An option to buy wire shelves for drinks would have been nice, I note that they sell the same model in that configuration. Door spring could be a better so that it closes automatically. My teenagers are absent minded and I have found the door not fully closed since they think the door should close like a fridge......Lights look good. Very satisfied so far.

This product is represented for either built-in or free-standing installations - neither of which are appropriate. The unit has an undocumented feature (sarcasm intended) that will destroy your flooring materials, subfloor, and if left for a period of time in operation, your floor joists as well. Purchased and placed in operation in our dining room in May 2019, we were initially pleased (and somewhat impressed) with the product. Installed free-standing, with the rear of the unit facing a wall, the unit performed admirably until we decided to rearrange the room and move the product to another location. When we moved the unit away from the wall we discovered, much to our chagrin, water had seeped from the unit at the rear and destroyed approximately 2 square feet of our (antique, 85 year old) wooden floor. Subsequent to the clean-up of the standing water, we consulted the product documentation and warranty only to find no mention of a drain requirement and all warranty claims require the 'purchaser' to pay the vendor shipping of the unit - both ways - to determine if the product is faulty or repairable. In other words, a warranty claim investigation could cost as much as 50% of the purchase price of the product just to allow the vendor the opportunity to assess the issue. Disappointment and resignation that the age old adage of 'buyer beware' is as prevalent today as when the Consumer Protection Agency was marketing their reason for existing 50 years ago. So what caused the leak? When we removed the rear access panel (covering the lower third of the unit), we discovered a condensation pan fed by an approx. 1/4" (I.D.) tube from a collection vessel molded/attached to the interior of the unit. This condensation waste pan was full and overflowing and the obvious cause of the leak and floor damage. The condensation waste pan measures approx. 2" wide by 2" tall by 3" deep with a capacity of less than a US Cup of liquid. We have since - unscientifically - measured the drip rate of the condensate to be approx. one-quarter cup per day; virutally guaranteeing this receptacle will overflow within five to seven days of continuous operation. And, the leak is at the rear of the unit, in small continuous amounts, that are absorbed by any permeable surface upon which it is placed. Water is insidious and destructive when left to remain on a porous surface unabated; rot ensues, mold grows, remediation is required, money leaves your pocket. The condensation waste pan is attached to the product frame using two screws, oriented horizontally, on opposing sides of the bottom of the pan; only one screw is accessible; the pan cannot be removed. Emptying the pan requires one to transfer the condensate to another vessel by use of an absorption material such as a towel or sponge. The condensation waste pan is located amongst the compressor, tubing, thermostats, and electrical wiring and connections. Although I haven't recently confirmed this fact, I continue to believe that water and electrical contact is ill-advised, a health hazard, and a potential fire source. And by the way, the temperature in the lower section of the unit (larger; 2/3) must be lower than the temperature of the upper section (smaller; 1/3). Meaning that your white wine supply will always be greater than your red wine supply. Why?, well heat rises; a well known, proven fact. Setting the lower section to a temperature equal to 50°F, and the upper section to a temperature of 45°F, will result in an actual temperature in the upper section of 50°F. We verified this, somewhat scientfically, with independent thermometer/hygrometer equipment. This is just a PSA and not necessarily a fault of the manufacturer; however, this fact is not disclosed in the product documentation. It is unconscionable the potential for this eventuality is not discussed, mentioned, or otherwise disclosed in the product documentation by the manufacturer or the vendor. It is arguably negligent the manufacturer and vendor stipulate this product is suitable for built-in installation. We will listen to an argument that when installed free-standing there is opportunity to recognize water leaking from the unit; but realistically, who moves such an appliance once it is placed in operation other than to perhaps dust and vacuum once every few years? #amiright We have since modified the unit with an external condensate waste pan (which is appreciated greatly by the spiders and other thirsty insects you know are in your house but choose to ignore) by extending the condensate waste tube/hose. This is unsightly but cost effective. Really, spend over US$ 700.00 for a refrigerator only to spend US$ HUGE to repair your flooring and US$ 10.00 to field modify and class-up your house with open water pans on the floor. That is what you will face if you purchase this product; which, again, we caution you not to do.

We had some confusion on delivery which Amazon compensated us for. It did finally arrive, and we only received indoor delivery. We believe we had originally requested in house placement. We were able to get it properly placed and unpacked. The unit looks good and is very quiet. The temperature control is not really what is indicated. We are having to run the top section at a setpoint of 40 deg to achieve 45-50 deg in the upper section. The lower section is set at 55 deg and seems to be running closer to 60 deg. The indicated temperature seems to hold very constant. Not sure where their temperature sensor is actually located. The second issue we have is the same as others have expressed. Sure, would like an additional 1/4 inch spacing between shelfs. Large bottles just will not fit. The shelfs are very flat so the bottles get pushed around when pulling out the shelf. I would have gladly given up a shelf to gain extra spacing. Overall, we are very pleased with this wine cooler. it appears to be a good value for the money.

I bought this wine cooler replacing an older one, which wasn’t cooling properly any more, same manufacturer and size. I chose identical item since I need it built-in and the measurements that I want are restricted to few wine coolers. The new wine fridge came in pretty fast, in good condition. It works just fine, getting the temperatures ser up in the panel ok, BUT, it makes quite some noise, which did not happened with the older unit, which has been quite dissatisfying.

My wine fridge was delivered beat to hell by UPS with holes in every side and ripss on every corner but it was well protected by foam and luckily had no scratches or dents. Directions say to let sit for two hours before plugging in after moving and it’s wise to do this with any refrigerator. Some reviewers complained that it couldn’t hold as many bottles as stated, 29. However if you stack the bottles as I pictured alternating facing front and back, it fits five on each shelf. It has two larger spaced shelves, one at the top colder section and one at the bottom warmer section that could also fit bigger bottles or more bottles on those shelves. I like the dual zone feature. With the white wines on top and you can fit champagne or prosecco on the top bigger shelf. I also like the no light, low or high blue light future. My fridge cooled very quickly after plugging in and has stayed well at their dual set temperatures. One reviewer said they had to make room for the fridge by cutting out their granite because it was too tall. This fridge is made to fit under a regular height of counter, look at the measurements before buying but mine fit with space above it. That reviewer probably had a few layers of flooring or shorter counters than the normal height. I like the look of this fridge and it does have the option to reverse the door. It has a NewAir logo on the front that would be upside down if you reverse the door I’m not sure if you could turn that around or just take it off I think it is just stuck on. The feet do adjust for leveling. It comes with two plastic cups and it says nothing about them in the directions but one reviewer said that the larger one fits in the bottom to catch drips, which it did, and the other smaller one was to sit in the fridge and add water for moisture if needed, I presume that’s correct. I am very happy with my purchase. My old fridge I was replacing that died was a U-line and most of those are about $2400 for this size and I didn’t want to spend that kind of money.

Purchased this wine fridge to replace a non-functioning trash compactor. It is nice and quiet, cools beverages (wine, beer, soda) well. I had to pull the unit out from under the counter a little farther than I would have liked in order for the door to open freely, hence 4 stars. A little better door hinge design would make for a more flush finish with surrounding cabinets. But, not worth the hassle of returning. I would consider Newair products like a beverage fridge for the TV room.
