  • Lots of flexibility to keep things cold
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
It's hurricane season in Florida. If we lose power, we wanted something to keep a few things from spoiling until the electricity comes back. The two units have independent temperature controls. They can be set to refrigerator or freezer temperatures. If we get a hurricane warning, our plan is to set both units to freeze, make a lot of ice for coolers and then bring one side's temperature above freezing and store the most used perishables and keep the big fridge doors closed to keep the cool in. The cooler comes very well packaged in a box inside a box. The controls are menu-driven. I could only get one side of the cooler to work when I first got it. I called Customer Service and was walked thru' the reset process, which fixed the problem But I would not have known a reset would fix it from the manual. It has a "solar" input, an 8mm plug, but the cooler does not have a built-in solar generator. This is only a way to hook a generator to it. It worked well in my tests. I feel better now that we have an electric cooler available in emergencies or to take a lot of cold stuff to a picnic. ... show more

  • Works great.
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
I honestly could not have found a better fridge/freezer cooler for a better price. It worked so well that the external battery I had, ended up shutting off after an hour of not having any power drawn. It didn't need any power because it was staying cool very well. The only problem I actually have is the size. I should not have bought one so big for the use that I need it for. I had planned to travel with it in my 4Runner, but it takes up way too much space. Now I'm hoping to sell it so I can buy the smaller version. I do recommend purchasing the battery to go in it. I will buy it for sure when I buy a new smaller unit. Be aware of the measurements of the area you hope to keep it. ... show more

  • Perfect for our small RV.
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
We really did our homework for RV supplies and a lot of trials and tribulations. This unit is a frig and freezer and works well with generators and electric hook ups. No doggie coolers anymore. Worth the price for quality.

  • Good cooler and seller!
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
I purchased this unit to work off of solar panels for when I am camping in remote locations. In general, it has been a good buy and I would recommend it to others. I have not measured power consumption, but I have never had any issues running out of power with my 300W panel / battery configuration. I run a few other things off of the panel as well (phone charger, inverter with laptop). I am farther north, so I only assume 4 hours of peak energy storage from the panels per day. The system does what it was designed for - keeping things cold. The refrigerator side does just fine as does the freezer side. Now, with that said - there are some temperature swings on the freezer side. It does not hold a constant steady temperature. I set the freezer at about 10oF. It will swing from around 5 or 6 at a low point - to say 12 or 13 at the high end. I also notice that the items in the bottom of the freezer stay very cold, while those at the top - less so. Ice cream near the top will be soft. But, let's be reasonable here - heat comes in the top and the cold surfaces are along the sides. Plus, in my case I packed it very full - strategically putting things that fit in the spaces allowed. So there is not any easy way for air to circulate to aid cooling at the top. The refrigerator side fluctuates a bit as well - but no issues (set around 35 or 36oF). I have had two of these because the first one had a problem and was returned. The seller sends along a card that says - contact them if there are any issues. So, I contacted them and the communication was good. They actually sent out the new unit before I could even start returning the old unit. That was good because I could use the box from the new one to ship the old one back in. The control panel either stopped working or lighting up. It kept cooling for a while after the lights quit. But eventually, after a number of days the whole unit did stop working. So I started using the replacement unit once it arrived. I am currently using the unit while I flip a house. So, it is my primary refrigerator and freezer. It has been running 24/7 for a couple of months. I am running it off 110V at present. I probably have a month solid of usage on 12V and the solar system - primarily outside in the elements (temperature changes from 20s to the 70s). It was sheltered from the rain, etc. ... show more

  • Excellent customer service.
Style: 48 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
I purchased this unit on a Sunday and had it by Wed. I was excited to add this to my van build as I have a trip next week. I need to carry my food and raw dogfood. I let the unit sit flat overnight as it was delivered wrong side up. When I plugged it in to my home, the led lights went on and I set the cooler part to 36 degrees and went to register it. (The cooler icon didn't light up but I thought i would figure it out later.) I had some trouble uploading the purchase receipt and got excellent help from the chat person. Plus #1 I waited a few hours but no cooling and no compressor kicking on. I checked my outlets and unplugged it for the rest of the day. When I turned it back on, it again it was receiving electricity but no compressor. I called the company thinking OH heck I probably made a huge mistake getting the less expensive fridge. I had to leave my number and email and was told I'd get a call back. I left them info on the compressor. They called a few hours later and I got an email letting me know they had gotten my call with the info I shared. The representative was very respectful asked me a few questions. Without any difficulty she said they would be sending me out another unit with info on returning the first. Gotta tell you that was the second good feeling I got from their support team. I'm waiting for the unit now so can't tell you how it is functioning but I'm hopeful. Maybe the packaging needs some improvement since some reviewers have had problems too. I was a bit alarmed to see the price had dropped $50 on Amazon in 6 days. Now if I could get that money back I'd give them 5 stars.++ ... show more
