I didn't realize how bad my starter really was! I got used to how it cranked over. It was taking 11.7 volts to crank the engine over so I knew it was ďone. This starter seems well made and....its almost a chrome finish. Only takes 9.7 volts to crank over now! Huge difference. Good hardware on the solenoid connections. Happy overall! ... show more

While it states in the description that it is "for f150" including my year and motor size, I still have concerns as every now and then it had to crank a bit to get started. In a temperate climate, not cold nor hot. Brand new battery that is the correct size. Alternator is good, yet at times the starter is a little weak on the crank. Overall very satisfied with price, install in an 08 is a PITA. ... show more

    • This is the forth NEW starter on this high Milage ford Expedition.
These starters , I have had a problem with the first three starters with intermittent non engagement, The original factory starter started having intermittent engagement problem to ring gear on torque converter at about 170K miles. The 5.4 motor was changed out do to exhaust leak in the cooling system and repalced with a new 5.4 ford motor from Ford manufacturing. A new starter was installed at that time and after several thousand miles had intermittent engagement problem. The starter was not loose in mounting so the problem had to be internal to starter and/or engagement ring gear on torque converter.. A third new replacement starter installed and worked fine for about 45K miles and then started the same intermittent problem. Note all these failed starters are the same model new starter , not rebuilds.. ... show more

I give one star because I have to put at least one cause the other wise I would give negative 5. Is not their fault is mine for trying to save money but I end up expending almost double. In the local auto parts cost around $170 for new one and 140 for refurbished. I ordered this one for 70 dollars and I regretted cause end up been worst or as bad as the one I took off. So I had to buy one in the local auto parts and work great. So in conclusion I would say when it comes to buy this kind of parts I would buy in a local auto parts at least you can walk in and get a replacement. Plus some of them they give 2 yeas warranty. ... show more

I had to replace my starter over a month ago and I haven’t have a problem out of this one yet. It was rough to replace however the part quality has been adequate for what it is.
