  • Just as fun as the 64 version
I have a Nintendo 64 and one of my favorite games to play on it was Pokemon Snap. It is my favorite game console by far but it just doesn't look good on the newer TV screens no matter what I do. Since I'm not a huge gamer, I decided to buy myself a Switch, knowing a new version would be coming out soon. Right after getting the console, I bought this game. I wanted a physical copy instead of digital so I never have to worry about not having access. This version is just as fun as the previous 64 game, but comes with more features and tasks. It's simple, easy to play and can be enjoyed by any age group. It worked flawlessly on my Switch and gives instructions so you know what to do along the way. Something some other games can lack. It's nice to kick back, relax and just take some pics of Pokémon's in the wild. ... show more

  • As a huge fan of the original, a childhood favorite... As a huge fan of the original, a childhood favorite...
This game is A MUST PLAY!! I''e already put six hours in and have mostly just been playing the first island over and over again because I'm having such a blast finding out all the special interactions. It's like the original but HYPED UP! So many unique and charming interactions, the star system for classifying types of behaviours in the photos is genius. Seriously, if you liked the original, you will love this! If you've never played the original and you're not sure if you'll like this - if you're a fan of looking at creatures in their natural habitat or interacting in a natural way, you'll get something out of this game! I've laughed a few times too because some of the interactions I've seen so far are so silly and fun. In my opinion, the incentives of discovering new secret interactions or new pathways to take will keep me coming back until I've sifted through every last bit of content this game has to offer! It's gorgeous and a must have for any Pokemon fan who's been let down by Gamefreak's treatment of Pokemon as a franchise and was hungry for some more Pokemon-centric content with an emphasis on Pokemon behaviour and daily life. It's everything I ever wanted in a Snap sequel, a real dream come true!! Edit | The game has had time to settle in, and with now more than 50 hours clocked, I can assure you that this is one of the most enjoyable Pokemon experiences of my life. The level design is very nicely done, making you need to think to get certain rare Pokemon interactions to fill out your photodex. Every time a new Pokemon shows up, or I get a crazy interaction I didn't expect, I'm overjoyed and feel like a kid again. The amount of discovery in this game is thrilling. Seeing Pokemon interact in their natural environment, especially interactions caused by your interaction are just a pleasure through and through. If you can get into the gameplay, which I sincerely hope you can, the game is just incredible. I do have some minor gripes about the gameplay when it comes to interacting with Illumina Pokemon, as I find their gameplay much less engaging than the puzzle-game styled gameplay of the majority of the time, but the pictures you can snap are still worth it since the Illumina Pokemon are all so majestic. The photo editing is really fun, and the online compenents are satisfying and, in my opinion, make uploading your best photos worth it! I really enjoy custom tailoring my profile to have a mix of artistic photos as well as comical ones. I hope you will play this game!!!! ... show more

  • Addicting game! 📸 Addicting game! 📸
This game is incredibly enjoyable and provides a relaxing experience for players of all ages! The objective is to capture photos of Pokemon, and as you advance in the game, you can unlock additional areas. I like the grading system that appears at the conclusion of each tour! My family and I take turns to see who can snap the best pictures, which makes it a lot of fun and adds a competitive edge. The game arrived sealed and in new condition, though there were a few minor creases in the binding from a physical media collectors POV. I highly recommend it though! ... show more

  • Recommended for Everyone
As someone who has completed the main story and found all the pokémon, I highly recommend this game. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Some highlights: - It’s a game for both people who played the N64 version like me and for new players. It has nostalgic references from the original, but you don’t need to know anything about the original to play this new game. - It’s a game for casual players and for people who like challenges. For example, you can progress through the main story and enjoy casually taking photos, but you can also take on some more challenging puzzles/interactions to unlock additional route pathways and get hidden pokémon (including legendaries). - It has a lot of content. Even after completing the main story and seeing the credits, new routes and endgame pokémon become available. Over the course of the game you unlock several islands with day and night versions of routes. And each of these routes has different levels where different things happen based on how you interact with the environment/pokémon and what pathways you choose. Plus there are side quests to complete and 1, 2, 3, and 4-star pictures for each pokémon based on interactions you can trigger (and each of those has different colors of stars showing photo quality that you can improve). - It has a lot of pokémon. They are all well designed with a lot of expressions and activities. It has a very safari and natural habitat feel. Overall, this was a very well done game. ... show more

  • Capture the Magic of the Pokémon World
As a long-time Pokémon fan, I was thrilled to get my hands on New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This game captures the magic and wonder of the Pokémon world in a way that no other game has before. The premise of the game is simple - you play as a photographer on a mission to capture photos of as many Pokémon as possible. But don't let the simplicity fool you - this game is full of surprises and challenges that will keep you engaged for hours on end. One of the things I love most about New Pokémon Snap is the attention to detail in the Pokémon and their environments. The graphics are stunning, and every Pokémon looks like it was plucked right out of the anime. The game also features a variety of environments, each with its own unique set of Pokémon to capture. The gameplay itself is also a joy. You travel through each environment in a self-driving car, snapping photos of Pokémon as you go. You can use a variety of tools to interact with the Pokémon and get them to pose for the perfect shot. And the best part? Each photo you take is graded based on its composition, subject placement, and other factors, giving you a sense of accomplishment as you work to improve your photography skills. But the real fun comes from the surprises and challenges that pop up along the way. You might stumble upon a rare Pokémon, or discover a new behavior that you've never seen before. And the game's various tasks and objectives will keep you coming back for more, long after you've captured your first photo of Pikachu. Overall, New Pokémon Snap is a must-have for any Pokémon fan or photography enthusiast. It's a game that captures the magic and wonder of the Pokémon world in a way that is truly special. So grab your camera and get ready to embark on a Pokémon adventure like no other! ... show more

  • Great to play in small timer intervals
This is a fun little gamer to just pop in and play for short periods of time and still feel like you accomplished something as opposed to the time demands of many other games like an RPB.
