Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Nintendo Switch Lite seems to enjoy overall positive customer feedback, thanks to its portability, vibrant screen, good selection of games, and affordable price compared to the original version. However, some reviewers have expressed concerns about the system's ergonomics (especially for those with larger hands) and a lack of some features found on other versions of the Switch. The eShop's speed was criticized as well, and the inability to personalize the home screen or position game icons to one's liking.

Pros

  • 🌈 Vibrant screen quality even for a non-OLED version.
  • 🎮 Great selection of games.
  • 💼 Compact and travel-friendly design.
  • 💰 More affordable option compared to the original Nintendo Switch.

Cons

  • 👨 The size and flatness of the console may be uncomfortable for users with larger hands.
  • 🐢 The Switch eShop platform is slower compared to other devices.
  • ❗ Lack of some personalization features found in other versions of the Switch.
  • 💾 Some people experienced limited storage capacity (solvable with an SD card).

Should I Buy It?

Yes, the Nintendo Switch Lite is recommended, especially if you prioritize portability and are looking for a more affordable option to enjoy Nintendo’s great selection of games. This version might be particularly suitable for children or those with smaller hands. Notwithstanding, some minor inconveniences such as the flatness of the console and slow eShop performance should be taken into account before the purchase.

  • Tired of fighting the kids for the Switch
Color: Turquoise Style: Lite Console
I was tired of fighting the kids for the Switch, so I caught myself a Nintendo Switch Lite in Turquoise, and let me tell you, it's like holding a piece of the ocean that plays games. This thing is so light that a strong wind could carry it away. That means it's super portable, right? Perfect for gaming on the go, whether traveling or just dodging household chores. The color is gorgeous, like a tropical paradise in your hand. And the built-in controls make it feel like the Ferrari of handheld gaming. It's so comfortable; it's like the Switch Lite was custom-made for my hands. Plus, it's so fast that I lost a race in Mario Kart before I even realized it had started. Talk about a speedy little device! It's a bit of a bummer that it's an all-in-one system. If something breaks, you're out of luck. Let's not dwell on the negatives. This thing is a great compact device for travel and at home. Don't let it out of your sight on a windy day. And hey, according to Nintendo, the Turquoise Switch Lite is the most popular color. Who wouldn't want to game on a piece of the ocean? So, if you're in the market for a new gaming buddy, the Nintendo Switch Lite in Turquoise might be the splash of color you need. ... show more

  • continues to be the best value in gaming
Color: Turquoise Style: Lite Console
The switch lite has been on the market since the summer of 2019 and priced ~$199.99 which is an extremely good value. My tendency is to compare it to the original game boy which was gifted to me as a young child back in the early 90’s which was priced at $89.99 so when accounting for inflation, the switch lite is an even better value by a few dollars. Of course graphically it’s a bit lacking by the standards of today but just like the original game boy, it’s all about the games and this is where the nintendo switch shines. For games like botw & totk it might be better to dish out an extra $100-150 to be able to play those gems on a big screen tv but for me, my 1st game purchase was ultra street fighter which was purchased nearly a year before even owning the system. Games like sf or TETRA’s Escape are perfect for quick gaming on the go. The biggest negative imo is that battery life is a bit disappointing considering the original game boy which used 4x double-a batteries easily provided at least 12hrs of continuous gaming if my memory is correct and that was released 30 years before the switch lite. The D-pad is great vs the regular switch… recently been reading lots of speculation about the “switch 2”… quite interesting/funny imo as knowing nintendo, there’s no guarantee that their next console will be anything like the current switch because the big n is so innovative that their next console could be somewhat different but obviously we’ll see. ... show more

  • So far so good
Color: Blue Style: Lite Console
Used to have a DS and wanted to get this has a bday gift for myself. Easy to use and no issues. The store though for purchasing games does take forever when downloading games but that may be due to the size of the game(s). Overall great quality

  • Smaller but sturdy
Color: Coral Style: Lite Console
I got this for my wife because she was having issues with the larger version that has detachable joycons (controllers). She's pretty rough with it and it didn't talk long before the joycons started to disconnect in the middle of playing. She would repeatedly detach and reattach them to get them to sync again. This version has a smaller screen, no detachable joycons. It seems more sturdy and less likely to have issues but if it does have issues you can't just buy a new set of joycons so that is a risk. ... show more

  • Nintendo Switch Lite
Color: Blue Style: Lite Console
My son loves this thing. It was a Christmas present and it just keeps giving. One of the best things is the ability to work with parental controls and limit screen time and purchasing power. I have a 6 year old, so being able to easily set boundaries is crucial to allowing him to have a gaming system. Nintendo makes that very simple. Amazon prices were right on target and the ease of picking the right color for him was a definite win. ... show more

  • Great little device!
Color: Coral Style: Lite Console
Bought this as a replacement to my old switch that doesn’t turn on now (lasted a long time). This is the switch light so the controllers don’t come off, they’re directly attached. The only worry I have about that is just in case my boys decide to yeet the thing that I can’t replace any broken controller parts. Otherwise it works incredibly well, it will need extra memory if you have more than one game you want to download to it, so be prepared to purchase an microSD CARD as well as the gaming system. Pros: solid build, easy to use, great compact device for travel and at home. Cons: all in one system so if something breaks, it’s tougher to replace. Very small memory so tougher to download online games. ... show more

  • Great on the Go
Color: Turquoise Style: Lite Console
This is a pretty nice budget version of the Switch. There are a ton of reviews on it, but my two cents are this: The console feels lightweight, and this is both a blessing and a curse. It’s great for traveling, but it feels like a child’s toy in your hands. It is probably too flat of a console to hold comfortably. I have smaller hands, but even I feel like it needs to be contoured more ergonomically. I wish Nintendo had thought about how a human hand would grip something before deciding on the shape. You will definitely want to buy a grip case of some kind to make it more comfortable to hold. Otherwise, it’s a great little console. I love the games that are available, and it’s a lot of fun to play. The screen is also really vibrant, and for a non-OLED it’s really quite lovely to look at. For $199.99, I’d say this is a great buy if you find yourself unable to spare the extra $150 for an OLED model. However, if you can afford it, the OLED is definitely the way to go at this point. If you’re buying this for a child, however, get some protective cases and some screen protectors because this thing is not built to take a beating (if you’ve got kids, then you know what I mean). ... show more
