93 toyota pickup 22R This massflow sensor never worked well. Because of my inability to diagnose good from bad and thinking the problem with truck must be the mass flow sensor. I repaced it but this did not take care of the problem. It turned out to be a coolant sensor that caused my truck to stall out and nearly impossible to restart. I had decided just to keep the new massfow sensor on, not realizing for 2 years why my truck had terrible acceleration. after two years of not accelerating not well the engine light came on the truck would only idle and the minute I would put the gas paddle down it salled out leaving me standed on the side of the road. I decided to put the old massflow back on and it was like brand new again. No more loss of power on acceleration. it ran perfect. Original purchase Oct 2024. Update: Feb 2026. Still working as well as when it first arrived. No CEL, runs ok but not perfect. Most likely the result of the age of the 200k+ mile engine. TLDR: Fits and operates like an OEM reproduction. Some additional hardware may be required if you do not have OEM components on hand to reuse. Long read: The MAF arrived including a hose clamp and the 4 studs needed for attaching the filter plate. All other hardware would need to be purchased or reused, ie nuts and bolts to mount to airbox and/or brackets. Installation was simple, only complaint is the metal housing appears to be a softer metal and the threads could easily strip if the hardware isn't aligned on installation. I purchased this to replace the original MAF on a 1990 Toyota Pickup 22re which had failed internally. The replacement has appeared thus far to solve my issue. No CEL, runs as can be expected of a 200,000+ mile Toyota engine from 34 years ago. Hopefully that remains the case with time and testing. ... show more

Replaced factory unit from 1989, truck runs amazing! Only problem was that the four screws in the picture were NOT included. Luckily, I was able to use the two nut method on rhe threads and was able to extract them from the old unit and successfully install them on the new unit without a hitch!

After getting a check engine light and the engine hesitating I had my truck scanned at autozone. It came back as a bad mass airflow sensor. They didn’t have it in stock so ordered one here. Came within two days took me a while 30-40 minutes to install and done. After a test drive check engine light went out and life is good again.
