If you're buying this for your Jetta 2.5 - definitely order your belts, Idler and tensioner assemblies at the same time and do the WHOLE job ONCE. The Jetta 2.5 is a PAIN to access the Alternator, no matter which way you attack it. Either from the bottom like I recommended, or from the top trying the cheat/chop/shoe-horn method. The job flat bites. So do all of it RIGHT the first time. This Alternator fit my 2010 2.5 and is working beautifully. I hope it lasts for many years. ... show more

I was a little nervous buying an alternator on Amazon, especially because I'm a Volkswagen Rabbit owner and everyone I spoke to told me that I needed a Bosch. I'm about a month and a thousand miles into my new alternator and everything seems to be going alright. The only issue we had with this alternator was putting it in, but that had nothing to do with the alternator! Had to disconnect water pump and jack motor up to have room to get alternator in/out. Granted we did this in a shopping center parking lot in the rain with no lift and one little tiny vw jack (vw jacks are terrifying!) It took about 4 hours, but we saved $700 on repair shop bills!!! ... show more

amazed that next day delivery came on Easter Sunday... wow! was able to get the car back on the road with minimal downtime. drop the ac compressor, pull a couple pullies, and it'll fit thru the bottom. total job, no rush, with a snack break was only about 3hrs on the ground with a jack, stands & hand tools. this alternator did the trick & is working perfectly. thanks so much! ... show more

Perfect fit. The 2.5l Jetta is tight. I unbolted the ac compressor and went through the bottom. Taking my time and tedious it took about 3 hours and I’m a mechanic by trade lol. All in all, good product and still going strong today!

    • Avoid! You get what you pay for!
Avoid! Buy a genuine part! After a few days of this installed, my car died while driving. Battery is not charging at all, putting me in an incredibly dangerous situation. Considering what a pain it was to replace, I should have bought a genuine part and recommend you do the same!!!
