This is my 5th cat tree in the last few years and by far the easiest to put together. The perches are wide enough for large cats which is much appreciated. My cats especially like the tall "pole" the perches are attached to as it's like the trunk of a tree and fun to climb. One thing to be aware of is if you have it free standing it can knock over if an energetic cat leaps at it. It’s perfect just as I expected it to be. It’s an upgrade from my older cat tree that is two years old. I paid 170 for it couple years ago and from the pictures you can see construction is not as good. There’s no carpet on the under sides and it’s some sort particleboard and it leans the platform is wobbly, but my 23 pound Maine coon has still jumped on it and it has survived my cats, love the old tree and in looking at this new one it’s very similar, but it has more cubbies for them to lie on especially the one at the window level and the cubbies are 17 inch. The old one has only one round cubby and that’s 15 inches and then it’s got this oblong kind of thing but my Maine coon is really happy with the larger size cubby as you can see. She’s already in it by the window the construction is much more solid than the old tree and so for anybody who reviews and says it’s not good construction I just want to say that it is very solid and I’m very happy with it. It will be a great addition to the old tree my cats like the top cubby on the old tree and now there’s one for each of them Update After a few days it became apparent that the tree needs a little more support. It’s a little wobbly. I will add a screw to the Cubby 2nd from the top and attach it to the post that it’s next to. My Maine coon we t to get in the top and it wobbled a bit so she went to the other tree. It turns out the old tree is much heavier There were 2 screws in the package presumably to attach to a wall ... show more

This cat tree turned out to be really nice and very easy to assemble. It is fairly heavy and in a big box so you might need a dolly to get it into the house. But it doesn't require any tools, just simply lifting the pieces into place and twisting them until the bolts are tight. I can't tell if it's going to be wobbly because I have it up against a wall and that braces it. Also my cat is very suspicious of the whole affair and has yet to spend much time on it. Eventually she'll love it, because she can look out the window from high up and watch the little birds, and her nemesis, the squirrel. The highest level stands about 6 ft off the ground, which gives her a really good view of the whole backyard through the window from up high. My cat is not much of a climber, but she does enjoy being up high so all of the levels act as a ladder for her. Perfect. ... show more

We're so disappointed in this cat tree. Our first tree arrived and the carpeting looked great and was the right color, but once it was assembled both of the taller posts lean toward the center, as you can see in the first picture. There was no way to adjust this since the second perch/bed from the floor is attached to both the long post and the sisal scratching post. We sent that one back and had a replacement arrive that it was in such bad shape we didn't even take it completely out of the box: the carpet wasn't the same color, and it was completely threadbare around the rims of all the perches. It went back too. Our cats have no interest in the boxes and hammocks that other cat trees have, and this one had seemed perfect. We're not going to bother trying a third time. ... show more

maybe I was just unlucky, but the one I received has a few issues. I was buying this 4-bed tree to replace a 3-bed tree because my cats are jerks and refuse to ever share a perch. This tree is NOT as stable as the 3bed one that was about 6 inches shorter. I have chunky kitties, and this tree is a bit too top-heavy... get 2 chunks making a dash for the top and the tree is rocking pretty good. Did not have that issue with the 3-bed tree. The 2nd bed from the top is kind of an afterthought addition, it feels like. It does not secure to anything, and after a few launches to or from it, it has managed to rotate to where it is no longer wedged against the post for the top bed. It does not tighten fully, and if you follow the actual building instructions, it tells you to place the taller post first then this one, which does not allow for the 2nd bed to fully tighten and it is not able to wedge against the taller post for security. My 11.5lb cat makes it sag down because it is not secure, but to secure it how it should be means compromising and damaging the post for the 2nd bed. It will not be long and that post will probably have to be replaced or tossed, and that is really inexcusable, given the price. There were 3 random long screws in the box, but what are they for? I tried to use one to secure the 2nd bed to the taller post, but ended up with a hole in the side of the bed and absolutely zero support for the wayward landing zone for the fat cats. About half a dozen times a day, that 2nd bed has to be checked and adjusted. NOT why I was getting a cat tree. Instructions are simple... VERY simple. Almost too simple... if you are not familiar with tools, you could follow, but if the trees are not designed to be strong and supportive, it will be a disaster. ... show more

These cat trees are the best quality I've seen. We got our first one from Costco over 15 years ago and it's still going after being re-carpeted. They're very solid and actual wood rather than the cardboard tubes that make some of the cheaper ones. They also real carpet!
