This is an excellent value but a bit shiny. I have a dozen or more of the New Brothreads spools of color and they work fine for everyday patch/tear sewing as well as embroidery. When used in the everyday sewing, the shiny of some colors really stands out, and this is one of them. Otherwise, no complaints as this is a positive using for embroidery. It's very strong for the diameter and there is lots of thread if only using it for sewing instead of drawing pictures.

I love all Brothreads. Their sheen is gorgeous for embroidery. I, also, have used it for piecing a quilt together. But, rather work with less sheen when piecing... This thread is strong and never seems to break unless it is from user error LOL. For instance, not threaded correctly. :-) Unfortunately, for me my Golden Retriever wanted to take it outside and use it as a chew toy...so ordering it again

I am so impressed with the quality of this thread! The texture is smooth, strong, and perfect for all my sewing projects. It doesn’t fray or tangle, which makes it so much easier to work with. For the price, I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be this good, but it exceeded my expectations. I’ve already used it for several projects, and it holds up beautifully. Actually bought this thread for regular sewing rather than embroidery. The color was a perfect match for my project. It is strong, has a beautiful sheen and durable enough to sew even genuine and faux leather. You can't beat the quality, value and vast range of color selection. No more will I be purchasing small, over-priced thread from Joann's which I was going through like crazy! This thread is not only top quality but offers a big bang for your buck! I think there must be miles of thread on this spool. I ordered three spools – one black, one white, and one silver. The colors are excellent. The thread has a wonderful sheen to it. I thought for the size of the spool- The money it cost was well worth it. Using the thread to sew on the machine does not leave a lot of lint-in fact, no lint. I will own that the spool really does not fit my machine – so I have a separate stand to make it usable on my machine. The only thing that I found wrong with these spools is, they tend to break when I’m winding bobbins on my bobbin Winder. For sewing, however, it is wonderful thread And performs just as anyone would reasonably expect- especially for the embroidery function on my machine.

I have been running this in a Brother 10 needle machine and so far so good. Only had one thread break but that was due to the embroidery pattern I was using. If feels just like the more expensive names so I'm going to try some of their other colors. I would buy this again.
