This is my first major thread purchase for an embroidery machine I recently purchased. I purchased the 80 spool set so that I would have a decent variety of colors and I selected New Brothread because this particular set of threads is made so the colors and color numbers would be like Janome's threads. Also, part of the purchase decision was the awesome rating on Amazon. Once I had worked with my embroidery machine for a while, I was no longer making as many rookie mistakes (I wasn't sure if I caused the issues or if my machine caused it or if the thread was the problem) and then the New Brothread threads were working perfectly. Then I had a request from a friend to make a number of items with a marine-themed print fabric with a lot of dark blue but also with a fair amount of several lighter shades of blue and some white spots. The thread I chose was the N273 Honeydew because the color popped out perfectly. Now I needed some additional thread of that same color to finish the project. It turns out that you can buy it on Amazon, but only as a part of a set of different colors which I did not need at this point. So I ended up looking at the New Brothread web site to find that same color. They also only sold it as part of a set. So I filled out the comment form on their Contact page explaining the issue and asked what they recommended. They got back to me the next morning and said they had it in stock and they would see to it that I would receive the proper thread. So I did what they said, then they did what they said they would do, and now I have the thread I needed. So, it was a great price on Amazon for a decent thread, and great customer support from New Brothread. That leaves me very satisfied all around. ... show more

I am very happy with this purchase. As of yet I have not used all 80 spools, but the ones I have used have been of very good quality with very minimal thread breaks (less than some other brands I have used that were more expensive) which for me just adds to what a great value this brand has to offer. I will definitely order from them again as I need other colors/refills that look just as pretty decorating the wall in my craft room as they do being used to make beautiful designs in fabric. I love this thread! During the quarantine, I learned how to use the embroider feature on my Janome 11000. I initially started with Simthread, left over Janome, and cotton DMC. I even resorted to using regular thread Then I read all the reviews on new brothread and decided to give them a try. So glad I did. With the 1000m spools, there is enough thread to do many projects and much more economical than what I was using before. (The free nets they enclose was so helpful, I ordered just the nets. )The thread covers these thick towels well. I took photos of Light colored patterns as well as dark. Most impressive was the coverage on large patterns- Texas frog and kitty cat. I did have an issue with a couple of the spools having slightly rough edges that would catch the tread, hold it up until either the thread or the needle would break. With help form the support team, was able to work through that w exception of 2 spools. (Thus 4* on packaging.) I have had no other breakage thus far. I now am working on Christmas towels for neighbors and friends will will be trying the 5000 spools next. Since some of the numbers on the large spools appear to be different from these spools, I will have to order them to see if they match what’s in the 80 count. Will update later. ... show more

UPDATE: WOW! I very much appreciate the kindness of the seller, reaching out with my concern about wrong sizing. It was totally an error on my part. I did not think to check the inside of the spool for depth when comparing with other spools. Thank you for your patience & understanding! Rating has been updated to 5 stars. I was working on a project & in need of multiple shades of green to complete. This set fit the bill perfectly. After completing the project & making a home for my new colors, I realized something wasn’t right. I returned to look at the description & it does in fact state 1000M spools (the whole reason I chose this particular listing). What I actually received were only 550 yard spools. While the variety of colors are beautiful & the thread stitched well with my machine… the description is incorrect. ... show more

    • Great value but not enough colors.
I believe my purchase had something like 80 spools in it and most of my PES files have the thread color information with them. I steadily find that I don't have the colors requested via the number on the color. Do yourself a favor if you're using this for your brother embroidery machine, get more color options. This is a good company and the little lip on the bottom of the spools pops down to hold the thread when you're done with it. The thread is strong. My machine goes at high speed and I haven't broken a thread yet. Get your tension correct. This stuff will slide easily. Some folks like to display their thread but I really don't like dust being run through my tensioner. The box is good for keeping the dust off the thread and still seeing what you've got. ... show more
