I only have good things to say. The durability of this thing is great, it got dropped right of the box lol and was completely fine. The case it comes with is awesome. I wish these were out when my oldest kids were coming up! This tablet is very easy to use, very kid friendly, sturdy, and lightweight. Not heavy at all and perfect for small hands! The volume is nice, loud, and clear. Very easy to set up straight from box. There’s plenty of great kids movies, videos, books, and games already installed on the tablet with kids plus subscription. You get the first 6 months free. My daughter is 2 and loves using this tablet. Even though it’s recommended for ages 3-7, it’s simple enough for younger ages. Loved it! Photos showing the Fire Kids 8 12th gen (blue case) and the Fire Kids 7 12th gen (purple). I was torn between getting the fire kids 8 and Kids 10 because I was concerned that there wouldn't be much difference on Kids 7 and Kids 8 but I am definitely happy that I bought the Kids 8 for my 2yrs old. The screen is big but not that big that it would be hard for him to carry it around comfortably. Seeing the kids 8, I definitely made the right decision. Its faster, louder, brighter, big enough and I was able to put our sd card as an internal storage which helped us on videos, music. Also sometimes it lags but only for a few seconds and it resolves itself. If you are torn, go get it:) It's worth it. I only put games and videos I approved. I love that its easy to use for my 2yr old and that I can totally control the content my toddler watches/play. ... show more

Perfect tablet for my little! She’s able to work it fine. I can also monitor it! It is lightweight. The screen is good and bright. It has all the apps available that we need. So far it’s been durable to survive my little. Haven’t ran into a problem with the storage capacity.

This tablet is great if your child is ready for the next step or you just need to distract them for a little bit. It is durable and easy to use, it's a great value for the money. The only reason for the four stars and not five, is the software requires parents permission for new apps, which is great, however you cannot log into the Amazon kids app to approve it, you have to wait for an email and go through a process. I have had fire tablets in the past and use a tablet daily for work and personal time. I was hesitant on getting our (almost) 4 year old granddaughter a tablet as I didn't want her spending all her free time inside playing games on the tablet. I love the parental controls which allow me to set limits on screen time, what type of content she can access, and the physical features which protect the pad and screen from damage. As we all know, bumps and drops are inevitable. The unit charges rapidly and is easy to navigate - even for a dinosaur like me. Screen time is dependent upon her behavior and tablet time is a great source of positive reinforcement. Not only that, but as she uses it more she wants to share what she is learning and playing with me. We often work together on letters and learning to read simple words but the system is such that she can move forward on her own if she feels comfortable doing so. Tablet time has also morphed into bonding time for the two of us and has led to many excellent learning opportunities. Even though she is only 4 years old she is learning responsibility in caring for her tablet and treating it as a valuable resource and not just a toy. I thought long and hard before investing in a piece of electronic equipment for a 4 year old though, up to this point, it has been nothing but positive actions and reactions we've seen from her since she first started using it. ... show more
