I rated it highly on the questions asked by Amazon about flavor and scent, only because our cat likes it. I have never tasted or tried to smell it myself! It does seem to be serving the purpose of protecting our cat from his urinary tract problems (probably bladder) that were causing blood in his urine. Our vet prescribed this dry diet, a special canned diet as well, and only distilled water to drink. It is a bit annoying though that Hill's makes their diets available only with the consent of vets. That seems likely to help keep the price higher than it would be otherwise, which is why I only gave a 4 star rating. ... show more

One of my cats had a bout of cystitis last year (first and only time) so my vet recommended this for a urinary diet. My cat with cystitis hasn't had another episode since starting this. Both of my cats love this and don't seem to have gotten bored of it after 7+ months of eating it.

This stuff is very pricey but……. It has completely alleviated my cats life threatening urinary problems. It truly has been like magic. Hard to justify a cost of nearly $60 a bag, but I can’t argue with the results.
