  • Perfect fit to original alternator, works great.
I purchased and installed this alternator several months ago. I haven't written a review because I wanted to make sure it was used for a while to make an accurate review. The alternator was very well packaged and works great. It fit perfectly to the original, and has been working great with no issues for several months. The price was also great considering that they cost alot more at physical stores. There was also no need to send the core, unlike physical stores which add an additional $75 until the core is returned. ... show more

  • Working great so far after 7500 miles
Had this sitting on the shelf for a year because my rebuilt alternator had 50,000 miles on it in our 2007 Yukon XL Denali. When it finally went, I installed this one, and it worked perfectly. So far, I have about 2500 miles on it and it’s performing flawlessly. Drove from Colorado to Virginia in 100° heat, running the air conditioner full blast front and rear, and it kept up fine. One thing worth noting is that the alternator I had in my truck before made a whistling sound since it was installed, something common to rebuilt alternators apparently. This one doesn’t do that. Very quiet. I also love the fact that it’s new construction… Rebuilt alternators don’t hold up like new ones do. Update 1/4/21: alternator is still working flawlessly after 7500 miles of a mix of travel trailer towing around the southeast and grocery getting. Update 4/18/22: Bought another one in 2020 for our 2012 Yukon XL Denali and installed it in January 2021 as a preventative measure before a long camping season. It’s working perfectly as well after about 15K miles, even with pulling a camper all over the west last summer in 95° heat. I also have about 20K on the one I installed in our 2007 now and it's still working like new. Very happy with these. Update 12/13/22: I have about 28K on the one in our 2007 now and it's still working perfectly. Clean power, no noise. The one in our 2012 has about 22K on it now and working perfectly also. Very happy with the durability of these so far. I've been lucky to get 25K out of rebuilt units in the past, so these being new units look to be well on their way to a longer life. Update 12/13/23: We have 40K on the one in our 2007 now and 30K on the one in our 2012. These have continued to perform flawlessly over many long road trips, hauling a camper, and with daily use. Very happy. ... show more

  • 2 faulty alternators - junk!
If I could give this 0 stars I would. I bought one of these, and when I received it, it was faulty already. I should have known to stay clear and buy from somewhere else but they sent me a replacement. The replacement lasted 4 months and then left us stranded on the beach. DO NOT BUY! You’re better off going to an auto part store and spending a little more money for a reliable and warrantied product. ... show more

  • Easy affordable replacement
Alternator on my 2011 Yukon Denali XL was giving error code when tested. Watch the online videos. Super easy once you get it out. I must say, taking the alternator out of the cradle / frame was hard until I used a 3 foot crow bar. You'll know what I'm talking about if you watch a video and they just use a 8" screw driver. not going to do it where we have snow. fyi. Dead easy to remove it with the big bar; big screw driver not so much at all. Those videos where they just stop, and then it's out when they return are full of nonsense. That's just me. I also used some lithium grease to let the new unit slide in just fine, easy. No shipping damage, appears to work just fine since install. ... show more

  • So far so good...bench test results nice bonus
Well, so far so good. Installed to 2011 Yukon XL (5.3). Overall build quality seems good. The Rear cover on mine is a little loose, but wasn't a deal breaker in any way. Bearing spins smooth when turned by hand. I appreciated they also included bench test of the alternator before it shipped out. Installed without any issues, all matched up fine. Put my tester on after install and all charging 14.6/14.8 idle and at RPM and holds steady...will update review if anything happens or changes, but so far so good. ... show more

  • Great value for alternator
I installed an alternator on a 2007 Cadillac Escalade EXT with 168k miles after the Service battery charging system indicator light and warning message lit up on my dashboard. The build and fitment of the part were great; I installed the new alternator, and it worked like a dream. I have driven 1k miles so far, and it worked like a charm! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Works but, god dang, it’s NOISY!
Used it on 08 Sierra denali. It does the job of charging but at idle it makes this “errt errt errt…” noise. Worse thing is it also emits a slow “ tong tong tong tong” noise that becomes faster until it becomes a whine at higher revs. I kept it installed while waiting for the voltage regulator on the original DR44 alternator. Once I put back the repaired DR44, those noises disappeared. I was going to return it then found the box all wet and torn up in the rain. Oh well,… my loss but I can’t tolerate the noise… makes my otherwise healthy 6.2l engine crappy sounding. I did notice noise was an issue with other reviewers. ... show more
