The material on the base of this is much stronger than what I had. The material of the skirt itself is lightweight but not flimsy feeling. Only gave this four stars overall because I can't keep my mattress straight on my bed. It took me a bit to figure out why my mattress was suddenly always crooked on my bed. The rupple is more tailored than a ruffle. I have a adjustable bed so had to make some adjustments to the ruffle. It is the exact length that I needed, just hit the floor so there is no puckering of it. And it just adds the finishing touch to the bedroom. I highly recommend
