Please note this review is for the Rio de Janeiro Espresso capsules. As far as Espresso tastes go, it can go from one extreme taste to another. Some are flavorful but bitter, others are weak flavored but smooth. This Nespresso Espresso is flavorful, smooth and NOT bitter. I love a strong Espresso and coffee flavor, but I'm not a fan of bitterness. I like coffee and Espresso with a little creamer (or some protein drink) but I could easily drink this Nespresso Espresso without any additional flavors or milk type additives. Even if you didn't have a Nespresso machine and had another K-cup or capsule machine with a fillable basket to brew preferred Espresso or coffee grounds, it would be totally worth it to open the capsules and enjoy this Rio de Janeiro Espresso!

Good flavor with creamer or add an extra shot of water for black coffee. My preference is the Starbucks pikes & Italian.

I started by drawing a couple capsules using the Ristretto size option. My opinion was pretty neutral - the coffee when brewed at ristretto strength was unremarkable. Sometimes adding more water to coffee can help open up the flavors, but in this case it just produced a solid, unoffensive coffee that leans on the darker roast side. Brewing the Rio de Janeiro coffee using the espresso size is where these capsules shine. The flavor profile to me tasted like a roasted cereal, with just a hint of cocoa. I wasn't able to note any of the floral notes/acidity that I often get with lighter roasts. Overall, if you prefer darker roasts without getting smacked in the face with bitterness/cocoa, these are a great option. They would also work well for milk-based drinks where you'd like to retain some of the taste of espresso without overshadowing milk or flavored syrups.

The espresso pods work well with my Nespresso DeLonghi Pixie machine. The aroma of freshly brewed espresso is strong and flavorful. The espresso tastes not too bitter, pleasantly sour, and rich. Good fit for my morning coffee routine!

Brand name is brand name. It worth the price as it definitely taste different from the OEM type of pod we use to have. It's flavorful with a good layer of crema plus the really good aroma after the brewing complete. It's perfect to start the day with a good cup of Nespresso (literally)

Good coffee. Can't go wrong here. If you like your original line machine give these a shot. Hard to beat the name-brand stuff, even if it is a little more expensive.
