I also like how it has a feature to vacuum and seal delicate items with manual control. I tried the delicate feature and it crushed the buns. The manual did fine. This is the best vaccum sealer I've ever had. Works perfectly. Intuitive, easy, and even has some different settings depending on what you're vaccum sealing that can be useful. I had an anova precision vaccum sealer before this one, and despite being about the same price, this one is SO MUCH BETTER. The anova was finicky and hard to figure out. I have had a cheaper vacuum sealer for a while but I have kept this one in my save for later list and watch the price. I finally grabbed it and it’s fantastic. Way easier than others to use. The seals it creates are solid. Not a single failure. It can also double seal. Love it.

I had a Food Saver that was about 20 years old. While it still worked, it was starting to have issues. Did a lot of research and settled on this Nesco vacuum sealer. I put it right to work with about 50 bags of venison sausage, snack sticks, pulled pork, and ribs. It appears to be pretty heavy duty, but a little bulky compared to my FoodSaver. I like the stainless accent. It has great suction and the lid seal works well to prevent air from creeping back in, especially when using the pulse feature. After vacuuming and sealing you can hear air rush in when the lid releases. Love the fact it includes a pulse vacuum for when you are vacuum sealing liquids or softer items to prevent leakage or crushing. The double seal is the best feature. With my old FoodSaver I found myself sealing twice on each end to create a double seal to reduce chances of leakage, but with this one you just seal once to get the double seal. When reviewing various sealers I was a little concerned that the depth of the suction tray was too far back and would require using longer bags wasting roll material, however, the front edge is slanted so pictures are somewhat deceptive and it didn't take much extra length to reach. I often buy 50' bulk rolls that won't fit in the roll storage compartment (same thing with almost all sealers). However you can put the roll behind the sealer and feed it through the gap between the lid and under the cutter (saves from having to transfer material to another roll to make it smaller so it will fit). Now to things that weren't as good, although mostly minor: when you close and lock the lid there is a delay before you can push a button; it is fairly slow in making a seal; it includes 3 seal options, 2 of which are single and the last is double seal but each time you turn it on it defaults to a single seal and you have to push the button twice to select double seal (I suspect most will use the double seal so would be nice to have it as default); you have to push the buttons just right to get them to work, just because you hear the click doesn't mean it worked; the lift up cutter arm blends in making it hard to see when it is up and I often forget to put it back down when trying to close the lid; the drip tray isn't removable to wash but it is easily accessible to wipe out; while it came with a 8" and 11" bag roll, the 11" roll had wrinkles throughout the roll (would note with the double seal it didn't appear to cause issues). the sealer sits up a little higher which can require longer bags, but this can be remedied by putting something in front that is a similar height to lay the bag on; it doesn't have a cancel button in case there is an issue and you want to stop it; you have to wait a little while between each seal to allow the heat strip to cool off (others I've used you could do several seals before you had to let it cool off; I found that if I label each bag as it completes it was just enough delay to then seal another bag so I wasn't wasting time). While it could be improved I still believe it is a good sealer and would recommend it to others looking for a quality sealer with great suction and a true double seal. ... show more

Replaced an old Food Saver. This seems easier to use although the cycle time is a bit longer. It's smaller so easier to store and controls are no nonsense. The bag rolls thate come with it are very thin so I will be using something else. As I use it more will update my review. April update. The thicker bags ( other brands) seem to work well and the manual clamp system is very easy to use. No fussy trying to get the bag into a little slot with temperamental sensors and automatic clamp mechanism like the one I replaced. It's not fancy it just plain works. 5 stars ... show more

When I First used it, it was slower than expected. I use the double seal function and it wasn’t quite as fast as I was hoping for. However, my husband and I had a meat grinding day and processed over 60 pounds of meat. I vacuum all of my ground meat and my old vacuum sealer (food saver) needs a cool down in between seals and it gets really annoying when you have to do a double seal. This Vacuum sealer was a trooper all day. There are over 40 bags that it sealed from 9 AM to 9 PM almost nonstop for over an hour at most points. By the end of the day, it did need a slight cool down between seals, but I can’t complain because it did such an amazing job throughout the whole day! The bags it came with are not great, but I had other ones from cabelas that I prefer. ... show more

Bought this ad it was highly recommended, and it is indeed great at traditional vacuum sealing of meat, including for freezing, marinating, and what not. However I’m disappointed about 2 things. First, the “Gentle” setting. Strawberry season just opened, and I bought several quarts at a local farm. I was going to gently seal some of the, hoping to stave off any mold. But as I started, imagine my horror as the vacuum did not stop and began squeezing the juice out of the berries. Several berries were crushed even as I frantically tried to abort it Come on! Why have a gentle setting? Also, there is an accessory port for canisters, but Nesco actually doesn’t sell accessories. Why not? I’m going to try a 3rd party one, but I’d rather have one I know works with the machine. ... show more
