  • Great Auger, Heavy Duty Drills, Great Seller
Size Name: 52cc+4"8"12"+3*Rod
First, let me say the Instruction Manual is "Wrong" telling you to put 80 to 90 weight gear oil in the gear case. You can do it with a 50cc syringe after taking the grease fitting out, but what is needed is Heavy Duty Gear Grease... not oil which will just leak out quickly. The Seller, Neotec, worked with me very kindly and courteously, talking with their engineers of the product. They saw that the instructions were wrong and said to use Grease, not oil. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did. I've asked Neotec to change their Manual. Now for the Auger. It is a great Auger with plenty of horse power, and the speed of the drill is reduced to the "perfect" speed to dig and not break your arm if you hit a root. Very impressed with the speed. The drills are Heavy Duty metal with changeable blades for cutting and a changeable screw on point to break through hard dirt and clay. I have seen other drills that are made of thin cheap metal that won't last, but Neotec's drills are definitely heavy duty. The Seller bent over backwards to help me, assuring me that if the grease didn't work, he would return my full amount of purchase price. Very honorable Seller. Wish we had more Sellers with this kind of integrity, that produce a good strong long lasting product. If they had a rating of 10 Stars, they would get 10 from me. Mac ... show more

  • This thing is a beast and well worth the money.
Size Name: 72cc+4"8"12"+3*Rod
Gear box was pumped with high temp grease, put in 2 cycle gas mix (manual stated 50:1, I mixed it about 35/40:1 ), pumped fuel bulb 6 times and it started on the 2nd pull. Used it to plant multiple fruit trees around my house. Dug 10 holes in very very thick Texas clay dirt with the 8in auger bit with ease. Saved my back and hours of time by not having to dig with a shovel. Motor has tons of power and lots of compression. Auger bits are well made. If it's not digging, clear the cutting blade of grass and weeds and it will chew the hole fast. Some of the plastic parts don't feel very rugged, but as long as you're not abusing (dropping or leaving outside to bake in the sun for long periods of time ) it should last a long time. Need an auger? Get this one, worth every penny. ... show more

  • JUNK!!!DO NOT BUY!!!!
Size Name: 72cc+4"6"8"
I had just bought one about the end of March. Out of the box it worked great for what I needed. A week later I got it out to dig a few more holes and the pull rope broke on the first try. I spent about 3 hours trying to fix it but no luck. I even tried shooting it with a 9mm but no help. If you buy it, I hope you have better luck. ... show more

  • It works
Size Name: 72cc+4"8"12"+3*Rod
I was actually completely surprised that this machine worked, and not only worked but worked very well! I was honestly expecting it to break the first day and I'd get a refund and then have to put that towards a more expensive brand... but I was wrong. This digger is a powerhouse! I had to hold it for all I was worth and it would dig right down to the motor, and then I'd add the extension and dig it down again. I was digging a bunch of holes 3' deep in hard clay soil to add an alley to my cattle corral. This became my workout regime last spring and it's the most incredible workout I've ever done! I'd dig 7 holes with it and by the end I'd be completely worn out, I'd recover for a week and then do 7 more. If you only have a few holes in good soil, I'd recommend this digger, but if you have a lot to do, I'd look into something different. I ended up buying an earthquake dually so that someone can help me stabilize it better so it doesn't kick my rear so bad. A 3 point digger on the tractor is 1.5 million times easier than this digger, but I couldn't get my tractor into the corral, so this digger got those holes dug. If you're looking for a great digger that'll give you the workout of your life, look no further than this post hole digger! ... show more

  • seems very good so far
Size Name: 52cc+4"6"8"
has good power, enough to yank it out of your hands if not careful when you hit a big root. I think the throttle needs a stronger spring because when it jerks in your hand you tend to squeeze the throttle thus making it go faster , dig harder and make things potentially dangerous . It all seem to be well built . It starts very easily .Pretty good idea I think to lay it on its side on the ground to start it cause the starter rope has a lot of kick . Definately do not have your hand on the throttle when starting .It has a centrifugal clutch for the auger attachment , so as the rpms go up it starts to turn . As with so much stuff straight from China the directions are woefully lacking . No assembly instruction at all . I also did not see any operation instructions .Luckily it is all pretty standard for small engines . I saw others say in ratings the same things .The gear box has a pretty standard hole with a plug on the side which I think is probably for filling it with gear oil and checking the level . I think the following would be great things to have that are absent : A manufacturers name , model number, oil to gas to ratio called for ,assembly instructions [ put the handle with the throttle and kill switch built in on the right when the muffler is facing away from you if you are right handed } .starting instructions , identify the gearbox fill hole and type of oil required ...all that actually on the machine .And also some directions written by an actual English speaking technical person . And what about a way to contact customer service or the vender ? And what about a warranty ? Does not seem to me like that would raise the cost of the machine that much . And yet it seems overall like a pretty decent auger for the price if you are able to deal with the shortcomings I have mentioned The test will be how well the gear box holds up probably . I have had a couple of Harbor Freight augers in the past similar to this one and they both had the gear boxes fail after a couple of dozen fence posts ... show more
