Description

Neogen Ramik Ground Squirrel Bait, 4 lb Pouch, is a bait system that uses food processing technology to produce an attractive fish flavored bait that retains its freshness, sweetness, and effectiveness in a long-lasting pellet form. Pellets are hot-extruded, so they are a weather-resistant bait made without the use of wax and can be used outdoors. Made with an anticoagulant active ingredient, Diphacinone (.005%). This product may only be used to control California ground squirrels (Spermophilus beecheyi). This product may only be applied within 100 ft of man-made structures. Bait must be placed in secured, tamper-resistant bait stations. Neogen’s proven line of rodenticides, bait blocks and bars, and pellets is used for effective control of rodent infestations and is often a critical component of an overall biosecurity plan. Neogen’s broad-based food and animal safety mission was built with the understanding that otherwise wholesome food and feed face numerous safety challenges every step of its way to the consumer. Our mission is to be the leading company in the development and marketing of solutions for food and animal safety.

  • Easy to use
Worked well without having to open and fill anything!

  • Works
I hate poison because it is a cruel death. I'm glad they die in their hole and I haven't seen them. However, I live in the country and the ground squirrels are really bad. They make holes large enough for a horse's hoof to land in and that's a constant worry for me. No matter what I do to prevent them from getting in my chicken yard works. Every day I would see maybe 10 running out! I'm constantly fixing, while they constantly are digging. I had enough so I bought this. I will never get rid of all of them because my neighborhood in infested. They run from property to property. But after 3 weeks and on my second bag I have seen a huge difference. And it's quiet too! They chirp really loud. They will sit somewhere and chirp for long periods. The first week I poured a good serving straight down their holes near my coop and barn. Be careful to get it in the hole so no one else eats it. I did this daily. Then I did it every couple of days or so until I stopped hearing them and seeing them running out of my chicken yard. It took a good 3 weeks to really see the difference. Buying on Amazon I had to choose a different seller through Amazon because Amazon won't ship to California. Odd as this is for California ground squirrels. ... show more

  • does not work
We bought this to get rid of some squirrels living under our chicken coop. However, no matter how much we put down, the darn squirrels will not die. I do not know if it is this product not working or if the squirrels are some how immune to it but it does not work. I will not be buying it again, and now have to find a professional to get rid of them for me. ... show more

  • The ground squirrels seem to love it.
This ground squirrel bait may very well be squirrel candy. I estimate that I have a problem with two or three adults and maybe that many young ones. I put the bait in a Wilco ground squirrel bait station in several places on my property. I don't think that I have any squirrel burrows on my land. They seem to come in from a neighbor's lot to ravage my wife's flowers. So I put out the baited station in the first location where I've seen the buggers digging some. A little more than half a bag disappeared after about two weeks. I wasn't able to check it any sooner. I moved the station to the corner of my lot (nearer the neighbor) and the rest of the bag disappeared in two days. I may not be seeing as many squirrels running through the flower gardens now, but in that initial two week period, they ripped up a bunch of daffodils. They don't even eat those bulbs. I bought another bag to feed them thinking that all the squirrels aren't getting enough of a dose and I started mixing it with Cykill Bromethalin Bait. We will see how it goes. Buy American, not Chinese. ... show more

  • It works
Squirrels and their cousins are gone now.

  • Got rid of the squirrel in the attic in 2 days
I tried everything to keep squirrels out of my attic but because they had nested there before, new squirrels kept chewing their way back in, digging under the foundation and chewing ever increasing holes into the walls through the crawl space. I feared an electrical fire if they chewed into any wires. Noisy, irritating, and a health concern. I put this product into the attic one day and heard the critter the next day. After that, comforting silence from the attic and walls. No smells, no sign of it or any since. 1st winter in 11 years I won’t be housing rodents. This will kill anything that eats it, so confine in someway so birds etc don’t get it. I dumped 1/2 the bag in a pile in the attic, it is still killing all the noisy animals that enter, well over a year later. If used outside, you need a dispenser to be sure only squirrels can eat this. ... show more

  • Expensive food for squirrels
I used two packages - squirrels are doing well, they eat their portion every day and multiply to the power. It seems to be a rather expensive food for them. It's cheaper to scatter peanuts for them. So I'm feeding these squirrels and they're doing fine.
