I’m not sure if this is more of a chemical exfoliant, but it definitely doesn’t feel like it’s exfoliating when I wash my face. Appears to do a nice job of removing dirt and residual makeup.

I love this face wash and have purchased it dozens of times. The only downfall is that the little plug inside the cap always breaks off and the face wash oozes out.
