  • Purple to Black perfection like any Sony Product
Style: Mat-D
Excellent quality, But it is Purple to Black not Blue to Black as it looked on the Sony website.

  • Solid Mousepad but Nothing That Stands Out
Style: Mat-D
This Sony INZONE Mat-D mousepad feels like a premium product the moment it’s unrolled. The stitched edges are low and smooth, so the mouse glides over without catching, and the large 480×400mm surface gives plenty of room for wide sweeps and high-sensitivity aim. The texture is tuned for speed, and it delivers, flicks and tracking feel consistent and effortless, which is exactly what you’d want in a competitive gaming surface. The high-density rubber base keeps it planted firmly, even during quick movements, and the subtle black-to-purple gradient design looks sharp without being distracting. That said, in actual day-to-day use, it performs the same as most other high-quality cloth mousepads I’ve tried. It doesn’t bring anything new or unique beyond branding and design, so while the quality is excellent, the color gradient nice, the overall experience isn’t noticeably different from any other good stitched-edge pad. Because of this and the price, I cannot recommend this product, although it is good quality so don't get me wrong there. Pros: Smooth, fast glide surface ideal for quick flicks and tracking Stitched edges that sit low and resist fraying Generous size for wide sweeps Stable, non-slip rubber base Smooth color gradient color design Cons: Performs the same as other premium pads—no standout difference Value depends on how much you care about the Sony/Fnatic branding ... show more

  • Not sure if this mat will ever lay flat, not so non-slip base, super slick gaming surface.
Style: Mat-D
I was excited to see this mat become available, but it falls short on a couple of details, then makes up a bit on the most important feature. As you can see in the photos, this mat does not lie flat. The photos were taken after about 24 hours of lying (top side up) on my desk to see if it would relax and flatten out. It has't. I also attached a photo of this Sony INZONE Mat-D next to my nothing-special desk mat that I've been using, to compare the bottom sides. The Mat-D has barely any grip to my desk and can be easily moved just by lightly pushing on one edge, even easier to move by holding one edge and pulling. The nothing-special mat won't even think of going anywhere if I just lightly push on an edge, and it puts up a fight even at increased pressure. To move it by pulling on an edge, it takes a pretty firm pull to get it to move. I mention the pulling part because my 2 1/2 year old and 1 year old grandsons have been caught trying to pull the nothing-special mat down a few times, and it hasn't budged. No doubt, they'd have the Mat-D down on the first try, and the 1 year old would be checking it out to see how it tastes. So, I can't say that I agree with the claim of a non-slip base, at all. You can see in the photo that the nothing-special base has a lot of texture, whereas the Mat-D is pretty smooth, but the Mat-D's lack of grip is likely affected by the side edges being curled, keeping it from lying completely flat. Will this issue resolve itself over time, is the question. Or is the issue a result of the dropped stitching, coupled with being rolled up for shipping? Is the top side material less pliable? Speaking of the top side, it definitely feels different than any mouse pad I've ever felt. It has a hardness that feels almost like it has a thin plastic shell. That feel definitely allows for super slick mouse movement. I'm not a gamer, but I do a lot of tasks that I need to move quickly, and mouse lag or inaccuracy makes me crazy. Time will tell if this not so flat mat will be a problem. I'll be sure to update this review accordingly. However, my son-in-law is a gamer, so I'll have him give this a go and report back from a gaming perspective. ... show more

  • Smooth and Stable for daily use or hardcore gamers!
Style: Mat-D
First off, I really like this color blend/pattern on this mousepad! It's a sleek and stylish look for any computer or desktop set up. The surface feels smooth and has low friction from the different types of computers mouses I've tried them on. For those who like to play computer games, it's especially good for players who use high sensitivity settings, since I've observed that the glide feels consistent across the entire size of the mousepad. The stitching on the edges is a great addition for this mousepad, and I expect to hold up especially for those long and extended gaming sessions! I haven't had any issues with the stitching inferencing with my daily use. The rubber backing is a great to hold this mousepad in place. Overall, the size of this is larger than your normal mousepad, but the amount of mouse space and movement you have with it, exceeds my expectations for both daily use and dedicated computer gamers! ... show more

  • Good as far as I know.
Style: Mat-D
Why the title? I'll answer that be prefacing this review. I haven't owned a mouse in 12 years. They've always been much too hard on my wrists to use for any length of time. I use a trackball, so this pad more serves as a desk mat. Good God, it's sure big enough to be. I had no idea it was this large. It is, however, made very well with sturdy, tight stitching along the edges, a rubber base that won't easily wear while I lean on it, a top cover that is comfortable to lean on and easy to clean (I've already had to do it with less than a couple days of ownership), and very subtle branding. The purple and black look quite nice together. If you do run a mouse for gaming (most people do, I know I'm abnormal), the surface is big and smooth enough for some nice, large mouse flings. If you need a pad and don't want too much for branding, go for it. Especially go for it if you're building a setup with a purple theme. ... show more

  • Slippery bottom
Style: Mat-D
This mousepad feels high quality and durable. The thickness is about average. It looks great on my desk. The comfort is hit or miss, because the rough texture can scrape on your palm. This means that despite your mouse being slick on the surface, your hand drags unless you bring a sleeve or something. I'm taking two stars off because the base is a light foam rather than the typical rubber. I'm not sure why they used this foam material, but the mousepad likes to shift all over my desk while I'm using it since it has no grip. Also, the foam doesn't have much weight so it doesn't want to flatten out, and the curved edges scrape the sides of my mouse, which is distracting. I didn't want to roll it the other way because that will cause wrinkles in the surface, which is just as bad. All these combined make it a frustrating mousepad to use, which is a combination of words I didn't think I'd ever use. It's also really expensive. ... show more

  • Smooth, comfortable, and nearly frictionless.
Style: Mat-D
I've been using SteelSeries QcK fabric mousepads for years, and they are starting to look worn, especially my office pad that gets used all day. This mousepad feels completely different and is a night and day improvement. The mouse glides almost effortlessly over the fabric surface, which has a slightly rough texture, but still feels soft due to the padding underneath. The rubber backing keeps it in place with no slipping. I usually dislike stitched edges because they irritate my wrist, but this stitching is recessed just below the top surface and is perfectly comfortable. At roughly 19"x15.75", it is quite large, so make sure your desk can accommodate it. I originally intended to use it at work, but I like it so much I may keep it at home and order another for the office. The only negative thing I can say about it is that I wish there was an all-black version with this "low friction" fabric. Sony only offers a an all-black mousepad with their "high friction" fabric. At $35, this mousepad is reasonably priced compared to other premium options. ... show more

  • Sleek Looking Mouse Pad
Style: Mat-D
The Sony Inzone Mat-D not only looks great, is a good quality gaming mousepad. The one thing to keep in mind is the size of the mousepad. It measures 18.5" X 15.5", so it isn't quite large enough for a 75% keyboard and mouse. The mouse pad is about 4MM thick and it was rolled up in a box. It took a few minutes to settle, but eventually the corners set flat on my desk. This isn't a very heavy gaming mouse pad relative to some others that I've used in the past, and my mouse glided smoothly without any issues. The backside of the mouse pad is black with a rubber base that does a fairly decent job from keeping the mousepad from sliding around. The perimeter of the mousepad is stitched well and I didn't notice any issues in workmanship. Overall, the Sony Inzone mousepad is exactly as described. Highly recommend! ... show more
