Bought three other high-end pads, and returned them with noise issues. This one does everything right. It is very quiet if you isolate it from the tent floor plastic with fabric of some sort (bed sheet works). The valve is the best I have seen. My hubby and I purchased (much) cheaper pads when we started backpacking. Learned pretty quickly that investing in a good night's sleep is important to a good backpacking trip. After much research we decided on the Nemo Tensor since we are both side sleepers. Best sleep investment you can make. It was so worth the money. Some pads can be very noisy & crunchy. The Tensor is relatively quiet. We did go to REI to try out several different pads. This was the best one for both of us.
