I like this. I have no health safety issues with this. It doesn't smell as bad as my first one. Melts lead much faster and will still melt lead for at least 5 minutes after unplugging. It was also easier to pour the molten lead into the mold.

For review we have an electric lead pot, perfect for pouring cast bullets, fishing jigs and a lot more. Not the prettiest thing you will ever see but pretty don’t get the job done. The body is made from 1/8” thick stainless steel that has been press bent resulting in a two piece body. Design results in a very sturdy body, just what you want when it’s holding a pot of molten lead. A generously sized electric coil is retained in a formed and insulated box of same construction as body of unit, again good design, very sturdy. Electronics consists of a master power switch and a power switch for the element itself. A contact switch is also present that cuts power to coil when the pot is removed. Wiring is also heavy duty, 12 gauge with high temp cloth sheathing, perfect for dealing with the temps present while in use. Supply cord is a 36” long 12 gauge cord with three prong grounded plug. Lead pot is of equal heavy duty construction, thick walled cast pot with wooden handle to keep heat where it belongs. The results are a sturdy unit that heats quickly, the pot holds the heat allowing for pouring of multiple molds without rapid cooling of contents. This is a perfect sized melting pot to do a few sinker, lure or bullet molds. Made well. The cast iron pot allows you to pour right into your mold. It has two power switches. One stays on until you remove the pot from the burner and then the burner is turned off until the pot is returned to the burner. The second switch keeps the burner on whether or not the pot is on the burner or not. This would be used if you are doing a bigger job and want the heat to stay constant. The pot is well made with a nice handle, I had no trouble safely grabbing and pouring. It has a pressure switch to turn off when the pot is lifted (this can be disabled so that it stays hot if needed). The unit gets up to temperature quickly, and seems to maintain a constant temperature.
