I did not have much hope for these at first. I had seen many other reviews say they just mixed a ton of bubbles into their resin. I picked up a rechargeable electric screwdriver to go along with them thinking the drill would just be too much. I am pleasently surprised that these with the top speed of the electric screwdriver work perfect for both resin and silicone mixing for dicemaking! The trick to them is making sure that you have enough liquid to completely cover the paddle and keep it under the liquid as long as it is on. If you pull it up to scrape the sides make sure you turn it off and don't turn it back on till after it is completely submerged again. These have saved my arm, hand and wrist a whole lot of pain and discomfort. They do not last forever. I have been using the one for resin mixing for several months and like all silicone it is starting to turn white and get brittle. I do not think it will last much longer. But at less than $2 each, I am OK with that. And if you use it in silicone make sure to immediately wipe it off before it cures and fuses.     • Works ok for thin resigns but not thick ones. It gets the job done.

It works well enough with thin resigns. It mixes slowly which helps keep bubbles from forming. The paddles are rubbery so they can rub up against the container walls while you are mixing stuff. Depending on the pot life I mix it for a couple of minutes or so. This mixer is only good for mixing small batches of resign etc. By this I mean a couple of ounces or so. I'd use a cordless drill to mix LARGE batches of silicone or resign or use paint sticks. The base is flimsy so I gave it a 4 star rating. It is easy to make a better holder out of scrap material. Keep the rubber paddles away from lacquer they will melt! If you want something that is stronger and faster Amazon has a Badger Air-Brush 121 Paint Mixer with a metal paddle. It is strong but you will have to slow it down while mixing the silicon or resign because the shaft spins very FAST as it is designed to mix hobby paint bottles. ... show more

    • If you resin, you need this!
When I purchased this, I had no idea how much I would actually use it. This thing has changed the way I do resin. First off, it speeds up the mixing process, and has saved my wrists and hands from so many cramps. It thoroughly mixes also. Such a big help! Second off, minimal bubbles. As long as you have at least 40mL of resin in your mixing cup, you should have no issues with excessive bubbles. Another plus! Third, the cleanup is so easy. I just let the resin cure onto the silicone paddles and then peel it off. Clean as a whistle. Every now and then I give the paddles a good soak in acetone to remove any remaining residue or tiny pieces. I really do love this thing. I had no idea how bad I needed it in my life. If you resin regularly, you need this, and you won't regret paying for it! I promise! ... show more

Bought this as I was planning on doing a underwater diorama and am need of a tool to help mix resin and not produce a significant amount of bubbles. Seeing as this was on sale at the time of purchase I thought I would give it a chance. When it arrived the item had an unusual seal placed on it, which should have been an immediate red flag. After opening it up and unpacking it I found the build quality of the mixer to be very poor, it felt like they used the cheapest plastic that they could find. Additionally the battery holder as slightly stuck in the battery compartment, looking as if someone had tried to glue it in. Despite all this I continued thinking that these were just cosmetic faults and would just put it in the "You get what you pay for" bin and continued. When I unpacked the paddles however I was greeted with a sticky residue on the metallic parts of them. I do not know if this is resin, and that this was a used unit that had been repackaged, or if this is some kind of oil layer to protect the metal bits from corrosion. This was the second red flag. Finally after putting the batteries in, attaching one of the paddles and trying it out for the sake of completeness, I found that not only was the unit extremely underpowered, but the entire connector assembly wobbles to an absurd degree when in use. This was the final straw as the mixer is so poorly made that I dare not use it as it would likely break after the first use. Will be returning and looking for a better product. ... show more
