More than a year ago I had purchased the Max 3, before the Max 4 was released. I really found the z-axis interesting, so when Neje reached out and offered a discount to upgrade, I was happy for the opportunity. First, I'm really glad to see them selling direct on Amazon. That makes the purchase a whole lot more convenient (at least for me), though purchasing directly from that wasn't difficult, the shipping just took a little longer / I had to make sure it was in stock in my local region. We made a bunch of wooden covered notebooks for Christmas presents this year, and I was happy I could use the E80 module instead of the A40640 that came with the Max 3. I was able to do the cutting and engraving in half the time. As you can see from the stack, that time added up. I picked a diode laser over a CO2 for a few reasons. Cost was certainly one of them; however, I also liked the simpler setup (no chiller needed) and flexibility (totally possible to engrave larger items by moving the laser to the item). I'd quickly recommend this laser (as well as Neje in general) to anyone looking to start laser engraving / cutting. The setup is easy and straight forward, I've had no issues working with LightBurn, and - as evidenced by the Max 4 - they continue to improve on their design.

Roughly half of the steps required to assemble this machine are missing from the manual. And they are missing in such a way that you are unable to infer them from what they do send you. Additionally, the video that they link you to in the instruction manual is just as terrible. Missing steps, poor framing, etc. In terms of ease of assembly, the y-axis belt tensioners are difficult to assemble, and the cable positioning chain on the x-axis is very difficult to mount. It would not have taken any additional space for packaging to have the wiring and air tube loom ran through the positioning chain, something else that I would have expected to be done at this price point. I gave up at that point, because I've spent over an hour trying to assemble this and I need a break. All of that said, the build quality overall seems to be reasonably good. I just have no patience for a machine that costs this much to be so poorly documented. I will update this once I have the machine operating. NEJE if you need someone to write proper instructions and do a video that actually explains how to properly assemble your product, track me down. I left a comment on your YouTube video saying pretty much the same thing.

This is piece of crap. The instructions for putting it together sucks and the support is just bad don’t waste your money. Its horrible and Amazon is worse Amazon is bad. I have spent thousands of dollars but no more I asked to speak to a person but to no avail. I got shipped a wrong lens

The quality of the material is great. Pray it works right out of the box. If you need support, good luck. They sent me to forums that, lost likely will not answer your question and no way to start a post. So far, buyers remorse is very high.
