  • Astounding value, an Aputure 120D for a better price.
I use this light specifically for video or product reviews and to livestream, for those purposes this light is astounding value. I have compared it to it’s more expensive competitor which is the Aputure 120D/120D Mark II and in my experience you do get a lot of bang for your money. You get a potent light that can output in increments of about 10-Ish stops total (meaning the difference you’ll notice in brightness has about 10 different levels starting from low to high). Compared to the 120D, believe it or not this Neewer (or Godox) SL60W retains more consistent brightness amongst all percentages. The 120D for example, falls off from a higher peak brightness and the SL60W (while having less peak brightness) maintains more consistent lighting from 100% down to 0%. The falloff of the lighting is more even. At 50% you have about 75% of what the Aputure 120D Mark II offers. There are videos on YouTube that compare these products that will show you this as well. Going back to the light specifically: There are several models available and this one is W for white, which is a daylight white temperature. There are also the SL60B and the SL60Y, the B is for battery and it is useful if you’re gonna do work away from a power source. The Y model is Yellow and provides a more traditional tungsten color. They all have their places, the Y for example is better for night shooting that requires a specific look. The SL60W is surprisingly color accurate and does have some flickering which can show up on some cameras. I personally shoot with the Nikon Z6 for live-streaming and then use a Blackmagic Pocket Camera 4K for product reviews and YouTube, the Z6 has an Anti-Flicker mode that helps and if you’re generally shooting at 2X your shutter speed (4K24@1/50 or 4K30@1/60), I haven’t noticed any problems personally. The Blackmagic doesn’t seem to run into any problems with the light in my experience. To summarize, the SL60W does such an amazing job at being a budget light, you can purchase a couple of these and have different lighting scenarios. This light is actually cheaper than some of the smaller LED panels you can purchase separately, definitely consider this light if you’re trying to improve your video quality. ... show more

  • Excellent light
If you turn off the light with remote - the fan continues to run creating this annoying buzzing sound in the background . Fan does not stop after sometime after turning off light with remote, and continuous to run as long as power is not physically turned off. Otherwise great light, but this is a big let down for me. In between recordings, I want to turn off using remote to work on something else, but this constant buzzing sound when light is not in use is annoying at the background. UPDATE : great customer service to address the problem - Looks like I got a defective unit and they are replacing it - I recommend product strongly- Remote is great help for me along with great light it produces ... show more

  • Should have bought these long ago...
I wasted so much money buying inferior, LED panel lights, only to be disappointed with color shifts, lack of brightness, and build quality. I took a chance and bought two of the Neewer SL-60W lights, and after the initial setup and use; it quickly became an "ah-ha" moment! Excellent output levels which mean I don't have to have the lights up so close that they interfere with the camera and tripod. After performing and storing a single white-balance in my Nikon D810, I have not experienced any color shifts (now at three weeks of use). I own a variety of professional studio strobes, and these are comparable in build quality.. a pleasant surprise at the price point. I have been shooting quite a bit of product photography with these, and so far have only utilized the umbrellas with just the inner-layer of diffuser, and getting great results. ... show more

  • Nice Light!
It's a very nice light for the price! One star removed because it's a bit loud for its size but I am happy with it!

  • Good quality. Affordable.
The light is powerful. I like how you can control the light with the remote. But the temperature of the light do not change as you adjust it with the remote. Overall, it is worth what you pay for.

  • Great performance.
Bought it to use in our new working studio. It looks like a strobe flash but stays on for continuous usage. Lighting is pretty bright and white and adjustable with the dimmer on it. The remote is the best, it works really well to change the settings of the light right from the palm of my hand and I can adjust the brightness from it as well and switch the channel. Have already got several awesome shootings with it, no regret buying this so far! ... show more

  • First time owning this light and I am AMAZED
The media could not be loaded. Hesitant at first getting this one as it has only 14 reviews but I still went and bought it. i love these lights very bright video was taken using an iPhone but i think it will be much better when recording on a DSLR. Even if you are only on 25% power this things is really bright, I left it running for a couple of mins to reach 43 degrees C and did not hear the fan ran loud it is really faint or quiet. ... show more
