  • Light
Style: NL660
I use this light every day in my studio very bright

  • All The Light You Need
Style: NL660
I'm a photographer by trade and am used to using strobes. I was looking for a light to use for instructional video's on line. I had three lights before this one. Two were just not powerful enough and the other produced great light but it was just way too big for the area I have to work in. I decided on a panel light but with all the choices I just didn't know which one or how many I would need. I chose the Neewer Professional Metal Bi-Color because the reviews looked pretty good. I bought one to start and decided I would add another if needed. The foot print was small enough I didn't think I would have any problems using two in my small work space. I mounted it on my desk turned it on an WOW! This thing is bright! One is more than enough to light my whole desk area and then some! It took a little time to get the temperature right, a digital readout telling the temp would be helpful but once I got it close I set a custom white balance on my camera and the colors look fine. I cannot recommend this light enough. I can think of 100 uses for it in my photography and will likely buy another with batteries just to have. Great Product! ... show more

  • Excellent color and brightness
Style: NL660
Amazing light, I use this for painting, and the control over the color and brightness of the light is excellent. I ended up buying a second for 2 45-degree angles

  • Great light!
Style: RGB1200
Works great, very bright! Used it as immersive lighting for DnD! Had to purchase a dongle from Neewer site to be able to Control it with my Elgato Stream deck, but aside from that, can’t complain! Phone app worked with no extra purchase needed.

  • Good Light But Not Quite 3360 Lux
Style: NL660
First, I will say that I like the quality of light this panel produces. I purchased primarily for product photography and video and for these, they do a good job with good color consistency. My only issue is the output, or at least as described for the product as 3360 LUX/meter, which I assume to mean 3360 Lux at one meter. This is inaccurate, as shown in the attached photos. Light was evaluated on battery power using FP-970 compatible batteries at 8800 mah (each light takes two batteries). At one meter, the bare light (without softbox) measures 1500 Lux using a Sekonic L-478DR. The meter was set to spot (collector retracted) for the test. The light with optional Neewer softbox measures 800 Lux at one meter. Both settings are a far cry from the advertised light output so anyone purchasing these as a continuous light source for portrait photography may be disappointed. At 1000 Lux (at about 24 inches from subject), your camera will need to be set to generally 800 ISO, f/6.3 at 1/100th second. You can obviously adjust these settings based on camera to go slower (1/60th) to increase f-stop or reduce ISO noise, but I am a naturally shaky person and I try to keep my shutter a bit faster off tripod. With multiple lights (main, fill, hair, etc.), you will get a bit more light output as a whole (maybe gain a stop of light overall), but these lights are cutting it close to the limit of what would be considered acceptable for portrait work. For everything else at close range, these are great lights. The softbox expands the light source to 12 inches square when attached, and this is also generally pretty small for a portrait main light source. Please note that Lux and lumens do not readily equate to watt seconds when comparing continuous light to strobe or flash lighting, so the values provided offer a general comparison as to what the Lux values will get you in terms of camera settings for proper exposure. Again, the color rendering is decent. If you plan on using as a continuous light source for portrait work, consider a higher Lux rated light panel in the 6000-10000 Lux range. ... show more

  • Get Batteries!!!
Style: NL660
This is an AMAZING light, I've used it on every shoot since I bought it, it's so versatile and powerful it's hard NOT to. I will likely order two or three more, the thing just practically guarantees perfect results. Note, you should be sure to remove the plastic stick-cover from the plexiglass panel, but that's about it in terms of preparation. I already owned a whole host of stands, so I didn't have to order any extra, but you should be aware that this doesn't come with one. I have to say, the warm light really brings out the green tone of a green screen and gives a distinctly summery look when shooting outside, and the pure white light is very clinical and cold. I almost always crank them both up to max, though, the effect is a daylight-balanced natural tone of light that really does look like natural sunlight or really natural incidental/environmental light in any scenario/location. Whatever you intend to use it for, though, GET BATTERIES, then after you get batteries GET MORE. I recommend these: DSTE 2x Replacement Li-ion NP-F970 Battery for Sony DCM-M1 MVC-CD1000 HDR-FX1 DCR-VX2100E DSR-PD190P NEX-FS700RH HXR-NX3 Camera as NP-F930 NP-F950 NP-F960 I bought a single set of two and it's been just barely enough on all the shoots I've been working on, BUT the lighting on those shoots has always been such that the light could be turned off between shots. If you have an especially long all-day shoot or if you are lighting a live event/broadcast of some sort, OR if you just hate charging your batteries all night every night, I recommend getting many more batteries. This beast of a light is a godsend, but it drains the life out of batteries faster than 8AM classes drain college seniors. I ALSO recommend getting a dual charger for your batteries; the light has two slots for batteries and putting two in at once means not having to switch in the middle of a shot, but it also means you better have both charged. So, gra one of these bad boys: NP-F970 Dual Charger for Sony NP-F550 NP-F570 NP-F750 NP-F770 NP-F930 NP-F950 NP-F960 NP-FM55H NP-FM500H NP-QM71 NP-QM91 NP-QM71D Panasonic VBD JVC V607 Camera with Digital Display Ultimately, I think I'll end up getting two more of these lights, two more chargers, and maybe four or five more sets of batteries. All that stuff together will fit in a large backpack or a suitcase, so it'll be an excellent portable continuous lighting kit that doesn't require any outlets, something every filmmaker and most photographers should avail themselves of. I've attached a couple images for which I used this light panel, just to illustrate what I used it for. ... show more
