Always skeptical about claims for off-brand batteries. In many if not most cases, they do not hold a charge as well as their OEM equivalent. To be fair, their lower power life is also offset by their substantially lower price. This battery is one of those rare exceptions where performance is better than advertised. Not only does it last just as long as any of my Canon branded batteries, it also reaches a full charge substantially faster than any of them. I rarely run a battery down all the way to zero on purpose so I cannot say how long it takes to charge when fully drained. However, from around 25% to fully charged has never taken much over an hour at the most. Best of all, it vastly outperformed every camera battery I currently own in what I call the "idiot's torture test" for batteries. I left my Canon R5 turned on intentionally for several days, including when it was not in use. This was to replicate the few times I have done so purely due to my forgetfulness. After 23 days which included taking nearly 200 mechanical shutter shots, it still had 50% charge remaining. No other battery I have ever used in any of my cameras have endured this level of abuse without being dead or nearly dead within half as many days. While I do not recommend doing this with any battery/camera combo, it's good to know that if I happen to forget to turn off my camera when I put it back in it's case, the battery will not be dead when I grab it for a quick shot. My R5 did 'warn' me that I was using a non-Canon battery (as if the camera might self combust or something) but without any issues whatsoever. Every single feature is available and fully functional. As another bonus, I really like the fact that I can charge this battery without needing a special platform or charger. It charges equally well with several different chargers including when I plug it directly into my laptop. Will definitely be buying a couple more of the Neewer batteries!

I'm using the battery as an addition one for my Canon R6. I'm shooting sports so the backup battery is a must and I love that the USB-C port is really helping when the battery drain in the middle of a shoot, I can just plug it to the power bank and shoot on the other battery. When the other drain up, this one is ready to go again. So far so good.

Jared Polin thinks I'm dumb for buying this, but I'm not rich like him. I've had my share of 3rd party batteries, my last ones for my 5D mark 4 were off brand from Amazon. The weren't the best but they worked and we're very inexpensive. I decided to go Neewer for my new R6 MK2 batteries because the color is great looking and it makes it easier to identify the new batteries from my older ones. The USB-C charging port is very good for charging in my car, from a power pack or even at a venue should I forget my Canon charger. Brilliant idea. I do notice these do not hold a charge while sitting for a long time compared to my Canon batteries but they still will last for a good while (maybe losing 25% charge if they sit for 3 days) but that is still respectable plus I can charge these using my phone charger should that happen. Overall I will be buying more, I did an initial test and they work fine in my R6 Mark 2.

I have two Canon batteries and two of these. Some aftermarket batteries don’t live up to the hype, but these do. I tested one when I first got my R5 and it’s just as good as the OEM batteries. I just bought a second on Black Friday. When I did an event for a client, I got three hours and 1400 frames out of it. Not too shabby.
