We needed new light stands that require less ballast to hold them stable with larger lights and modifiers on them. Having one that also quickly swings into a boom is also a nice bonus. These work as expected and are very stable and sturdy. They are anything but light weight. These are steel and quite heavy, but for studio use when I want lights to stay put and will not be moving them often, this fits the need. I may purchase the optional wheels for the stands in the future to improve mobility, but for now it hasn't been an issue. ... show more

I just got this today! Took 3 minutes at most to setup. I don’t need the arm just yet, but it would have taken 1 extra minute to put on. This stand is heavy, but not to heavy to move. I am loving the stainless steel. Most Importantly, holds the light and dome! I will probably buy another one for other light setups. ... show more

This is a heavy unit, which when you need stability and long reach...is just what is called for. It is a great stand in the studio, but I dread having to take it onsite due to carry weight. The ratcheted clamp is a beast and looks like it could hold up any type of light/video equipment.
