The build quality is amazing and it utilizes the same 6" suction cup Neewer sells separately. The counter weight screw is much nicer than Movmax and Tilta which have the separate weights you put on. Tested up to 60mph on a fairly beat up road and it perfoms great. Suction cup stayed on nice and tight.

The metal arm completely broke in half without warning while filming at walking speed during our third use, dropping our small $800 DJI camera. I would not recommend this product—spend the extra money and buy a name-brand option.

Solid stabilizer and has many good features to suit your needs but after 3rd use of going down the road I noticed it was wobbling a lot. Come to find out, the base had cracked and it basically flopped off in my hand. This was all down paved roads. Thankfully Amazon came through for me and allowed me to return it past the return window. Otherwise it would have gotten a lower star rating.

The media could not be loaded. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I really like the value of Neewer for what you get, and I have noticed they have stepped things up with more premium products in the past couple of years. So they don't just seem to be a value brand anymore, but the prices are still quite good for what you get. There are a lot of suction cups out there, but I wanted to order this one because it has a visible indicator line for the suction. Sturdiness: All the joints feel great when tightened. The spring action is very sturdy and seems uniform. The camera plate attaches with a standard nato mount, so that is good to know. I like how easy the counterweight is to dial in. Fit: It works very well for my Insta360 X5 in and out of a cage. I like that I can keep the camera attached to the plate and easily remove it from the main arm to recharge or just to keep it out of harm's way. Works well: I wanted to try it on the roof of my car, the side, and the windshield. I feel like it did well on all three surfaces. I think the biggest factor is making sure the attachment surface is squeaky clean as well as the suction cup itself. So I never did see the white line show up. I did experiment at home on a textured countertop, as well as the surface of my desk but without giving the suction cup a good wipe. In both these cases when I checked on it a few hours later I could see the line, even though it did still take some effort to pull the unit off. As far as the effectiveness in video, it really does even out the bumps of the road. I think that in a scenario with general vibrations, such as a bike, I would want to dampen it from horizontal vibrations somehow as well. As it is, it really does seem like it is floating along next to the car. At one point I stuck a small spot on my car just for reference and I was surprised how much it moved in the video while the actual horizon stayed super smooth. Mount quality: Everything that matters is metal. I think actually everything is metal. I really like that there are extra mounting points on the base. I may get a second suction cup and connect the two for extra insurance. Versatility: Once I understood where the centers should be for balance and for range of motion, it was easy to use it in each position after that. Basically, you want the least amount of tension on the base itself, and you want the camera to rest in relatively the center of the range of travel for the shock.

I selected this Neewer Hydraulic Boom Arm for my action camera setup. So far, it has worked great for my needs, especially for getting unique angles. The vacuum suction cup car mount is impressively strong. It attaches securely, giving me confidence that my camera is stable, even when mounted on a vehicle. The hydraulic boom arm itself is very easy to adjust and very versatile. It allows for precise positioning and holds its place firmly once set. The 360° pan base is also a great feature for fine-tuning angles on the fly. The quick release NATO rail is a smart design choice. It makes attaching and detaching the camera quick and hassle-free, which I especially appreciate when moving between shots. This arm feels solid and well-made, supporting my action camera easily within its 18oz/500g max load. It seems durable and like it will hold up well to continued use. While my experience has been positive with fairly gentle use, some users have mentioned concerns about a potential weak point in the arm's design. For future versions, reinforcing this area could offer even greater peace of mind for heavier loads or more rigorous applications.
