I bought a camera without a front-facing monitor. oops, The mount fits easily into the hot shoe. It's easy to remove it with one hand if necessary. It is quite heavy. Heavier than the camera. So, I use it on a tripod. It wouldn't work for me at first. I got a scrambled screen. Then, I saw another review from someone else using a Lumix camera. I played around with the setting and, now it is perfect. Don't ask me what I did. I can't remember but whatever it was it was relatively easy.

You can tighten the tilt axis, but not the pan axis. My monitor often swings and spins around due to its weight as i'm move the camera. Wish there was an easy way to tighten it like the tilt axis

Build quality is good but tightening or loosening of the tilt lock knob is not locking or unlocking the tilt position. Had to operate the bolt on other side of the knob with L-key every time to tilt lock.
