I use and have been really happy with bicolor light panels I have from a competitor and got these since I needed something fast and cheap before a shoot. Instead of being a quick fix, these are now my go to light panels for the road. The color temperature is pretty spot on, the brightness is great and I appreciate some of the little features like locks to hold in the batteries. The build quality is much better than I expected, on par with others I have. I haven't found much use for the RGB range or color presets at this point so I don't have much experience with that, but I do like knowing that the option is there if I want to get more creative than merely lighting a subject. The brightness range is dimmer on batteries, but the 1200s are still just as bright as other panels I use on batteries while being much brighter once plugged in. The package including a carrying case and tripods is also a nice touch. With a $50 coupon Amazon had at the time I got this, this set of two lights was about the same cost of one light and a stand from the other set of panels I have. I did also buy these with two of the optional softboxes, they're not necessary for everything but they are a good nice to have that's made to fit and folds up small enough to easily fit in the same carrying case as the light panels. If you get these, make sure you have a screwdriver or key on hand as you will need it to loosen the machine tightened thumb screws that hold the barn doors in place the first time you remove them. Will see how these hold up with time, but for now I am extremely happy with what I got.

Buy them. You won’t be disappointed. The only thing I wish I had right now were the battery packs. That is my next purchase for sure. The photo is from a video shoot I did for my brother’s business, and not a final product.

I wanted to achieve a pure white background to list items for sale. My old ring light was okay but the photos that came out required a lot of post-processing. Turns out I just needed stronger lights! These did the job perfectly and they are as bright as they advertise them to be which was a relief. They run very quiet and don't seem to heat up too much even after long hours of use. They do come with a light softener that can be easily removed. The stand and bag that come with it are really nice themselves (though I still prefer the foam insert boxes they came with, don't throw those away!) The only minor annoying thing is the metal flaps get in the way if you want the tilt the light, you will have to remove them if you want to angle the light.

The lights and stands are great but i’ve seen in multiple unboxing videos the lights have their own case. Apparently not in the 2 light kit setup. Lights came in a padded cardboard box which seems a bit unprofessional to keep them for protection but better than leaving them unprotected in the bag.

NEEWER just continues to improve on an already successful product line I have several sets of RGB panels from Neewer. The oldest ones have a little bit of issue with the barn doors and the tilting getting in the way but they never seem to stop improving up on their products and every time there’s a snag, it seems there next iteration is always a little bit better. I was very happy with my ones that are few years old but these are bigger and brighter and the app has come along way to give you an astonishing amount of control and it’s much easier to use than the older app. This is particularly handy if you are managing multiple lights and multiple groups of lights. As usual they still have on screen controls for people who like to take the hands-on approach. The best thing about these lighting panels of course is their ability to accept NF-P batteries making this a completely 100% portable solution. I pretty much know how much run time I will get on high power with the various sets of batteries. It’s 15 minutes per pair of 18650 cells inside the battery. So the batteries either have 2, 4 or six cells inside them. If you’re running at 50% you can double that number. That means if you have the 950s and you have two of them on the back of a light panel, do you have an hour and a half of maximum brightness lighting. That’s pretty impressive. And now of course NEEWER makes NFP battery adapters that can connect to v-mount and other larger batteries, and you can use the dummies to get even more runtime. The options are plenty. The items are shipped in a giant box but they are clearly separate things. You get two lights to stands in the back. The bag is actually big enough to hold four lights but I doubt it would be strong enough to carry them because these things are significantly heavy. So you end up having a lot of extra space in the bag but you wouldn’t want to put anything too heavy in it or it might tear up the bag. You could throw in some light modifiers and other things that are feathery. These are very large panels and they offer a lot of light and many options. Now the effects are kind of cheesy as most light effects generally are, but I found that if you combine two different lights, you can create a much more natural effect for something like lightning or fire. That’s one thing I wouldn’t mind seeing them do is actually put some effort into programming some very naturalistic lighting effects. Seems like it wouldn’t be very hard and it would definitely be a feature that let your lights stand out amongst a very crowded field of offerings. Still this panel is as good as it gets as far as I’m concerned. Most of my NEEWER equipment is such a phenomenal value and very high-quality I often can’t believe the prices. I am not getting paid to say this but I was a struggling artist back in the day and these guys made affordable equipment that I was able to actually buy and take to jobs. Most companies are happy to price you out of the photography market. Not these guys. They make good stuff at an absolute excellent value.
