Description

Persephone's Palate is Nectar for the Gods' answer to the use of molasses in a feeding regimen. The calcium in the lignin acts as a microbial food while the lignosulfonate acts as a chelating agent (large, organic molecules that are used to envelop highly-reactive trace metal ions). The purpose of chelates is to incorporate metal ions like magnesium, boron, and zinc into a soluble but bound form that is capable of supplying nutrients to the plants. As the chelate breaks down, the metal ion micronutrients are slowly released into the soil in a bioavailable form that may then be taken up by the plant.

I noticed that the product page mentioned 'Country of Origin: China,' but I decided to purchase it anyway, as I was skeptical, having not seen this brand made in China for years. When I received it, I found that nowhere on the product does it state 'Made in China' :)

    • Persephone’s Palate is spectacular
I used Blackstrap molasses for years and years. I got turned on to the Nectar line of nutrients about 18 months ago , and Persephone’s Palate is one of my favorites . Its molasses on steroids !! The way Persephone’s Palate is formulated allows the plant at utilize It much easier and it feeds the microbes in your soil spectacularly. I did a cost comparison for the Persephone’s Palate vs molasses, and it’s actually more expensive to by a gallon of Organic Blackstrap molasses than a gallon of Persephone’s Palate and doesn’t offer all the benefits of the Persephone’s Palate. I was shipped the wrong product. However, the 5-liter BioBizz Biogrow seems to be a suitable replacement or at least is easily comparable to the Persephone's Palate I ordered. I'm new to growing with fancy organic nutrients and I needed something with easily accessible sugars to complement the rest of what I've been adding to the soil and the BioBizz Biogrow advertises that just as the Nectar of the Gods - Persephone's Palate (that's how it's described on the YouTube channel of the company that makes it: OCGFAM), however from what I found, the sugars in the Biogrow come from beets instead of molasses. Still organic, which is what I wanted, still sugary like my soil needs. 5 liters for an extremely similar price to the gallon I ordered seems like an okay tradeoff if the Persephone's Palate wasn't available. I could be 100% off about all that, the Persephone's Palate description has more detail about specific ions, but it seems like this Biogrow should work. 4 stars because the replacement product seems, after my own semi-careful comparison, to be chosen with care as opposed to being misshipped and it was delivered expeditedly. If the Persephone's Palate is backordered, I probably would have been mad if I had to wait for a suitable replacement to show up. The extra .32 gallons is a plus too. I'm sure I can balance the nutrient regimine with something if I start to see random deficiencies due it not being an exact replacement to the Persephone's Palate, as I was trying to adhere to the feeding schedules provided by Nectar of the Gods: for simplicity's sake. It can't hurt to know the science a little better, I just plan on doing a foliage spray with growth hormones and a worry about creating defiencies that could hinder my plant after the foliage spray. I'm not mad though, this could turn out to be a better option, only time and bit of comparative science will tell: thanks for the introduction to another, more affordable brand of organic nutrients, I wouldn't have found it otherwise. ... show more
