  • Works for CPAP support — with some caveats
I was recently invited to go camping, and I wanted to go, so I had to sort out a problem: I use a ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP machine to sleep, but the campground in question only provided electricity 3-4 hours a day for people to charge their phones and other devices. That wouldn't work for a CPAP. So I bought this 322Wh battery weeks ahead of time to test 2 key questions: 1. Could it run a CPAP for 8 hours a night? 2. Could it fully charge in only 3-4 hours? Side note: I already own a CPAP power adapter that runs off a car DC plug. I read somewhere that this would draw less power from a portable battery than using the AC adaptor. This battery came with a DC adapter to simulate a car plug, so I used that with the DC car adapter — the KFD DC Adapter Car Charger for Resmed S10 Series available on Amazon for $35. Also note that this battery's gauge is very rudimentary gauge: it's a simple progress bar with 5 units. So when you see all 5 units filled, it's somewhere between 80% and 100% full. When you see 3 filled, it's somewhere between 40% and 60% full. But, when it's charging: whichever unit is blinking is the range it's currently charging in. So, while charging, if 3 units are lit and unblinking, and the 4th is blinking, then you know it's charged more than 60% and less than 80%. The battery arrived partially charged (in the 40%-60% range). I fully charged it over the course of a day. Then I began usage testing for my first question. Night #1: used the CPAP with full features. The battery lasted about 4 hours before draining. Not good. Night #2: changed the feature configuration on the CPAP machine to turn off the heated tube and the humidification, and turn on airplane mode (to disable Bluetooth etc.). The battery lasted for the entire night with 40%-60% charge remaining. That's promising. Night #3-#5: repeated #2 with the same results. However, without the humidification, I was getting a dry bloody nose in the mornings. So that was not acceptable. Night #6: turned humidification back on, but kept it in airplane mode with the heated tube off. The battery lasted for the entire night with 20%-40% charge remaining. No bloody nose. That's more promising. Night #7 and after: repeated #6 with same results. This is good. Now, for the second question about charging, some tests: Starting at a charge level of 0%-20%, the included AC adapter brick charged the battery to 100% in 7.0-7.5 hours. That's not going to work for this situation. The product description on Amazon says you can add a second charger via the USB-C port. (See the diagrams above that show a 65W adapter.) Weirdly, the user manual does not explain this at all, simply noting that the USB-C port is both input/output. But, I happen to have a USB-C charger that supports up to 40W. Starting at a charge level of 0%-20%, and using both the AC adapter and the 40W USB-C charger, the battery reached 100% in 3.5-4.0 hours. That's promising enough for this particular trip. If I take the trip and have different results than suggested by these tests, I will follow up with comments. ... show more

  • Top tier mini lifepo4 power bank
It may not be the biggest, but it's for sure the most convenient lifepo4 power bank I've come across. I much prefer lifepo4 over li-ion, despite it being a little bulkier. It's still small enough to easily carry around. My laptop charges with pd 45w, so I don't find myself using the inverter very often - but it's definitely handy to have when needed. My only gripe is that it doesn't display watt output. Certainly not a dealbreaker, but it would be nice to include that in an updated version. Wireless charging on the top of the unit would also maybe be good to add. UPDATE: I still like this thing a lot. I use it all the time. I carry it around to charge my laptop and phone and whatever other little devices I have. I've found a use for the AC inverter, which is charging an ebike that uses 80w. The complaint I have for this use case is that it doesn't have a normal DC input that I can plug a solar panel into. It requires a PD charger which complicates things a whole lot. It would be perfect with a 12-24v DC input or something like that. ... show more

  • A Good value for the budget minded
Style: 150W-N150
I purchased this unit because of the price and the type of battery. The battery is a Lifep04, which has a very long life span compared to lithium batteries. That alone justifies the purchase of this unit. Just remember this unit is small (150 watt) and is not designed for power tools, a lot of kitchen appliances, or powering a refrigerator. This unit is idea for CPAP machines for camping or if your power goes out in your house, charging cell phones, computers, and even use an a/c light if the power goes out in your house. There are a lot of uses, but remember it does have it's limits. Positive - The light is very powerful and has a lot of settings; the handle is soft and easy to carry; it is very portable; the a/c fan does not make a lot of noise; the LCD display is easy to read; I like the color of the unit. Negative - The unit did not come with a plug, so you can plug it into your solar panels. They should have included a plug that has a few different types of plugs for different sizes; It would have been nice for the LCD display to show watts coming in and going out; It would have been nice if the LCD display showed the amount of time you have left before the unit turns off; Pushing the power on and pushing the light takes a bit too long. There is a 2-3 sec delay; It does not have fast charging for usb c charging. While it sounds like there are a lot of negatives, remember that this unit is designed for someone that doesn't expect all the features than more expensive solar power generators. If you are looking for a good basic unit that has an outstanding battery, you can't go wrong with this unit. I just don't understand they didn't provide any cables or plugs to connect to you solar panel. ... show more
