After using this to blind any living thing in range, you might not be able to see much yourself until your eyes get use to the dark again. There are brighter lights out there, but I don't think anything brighter than this would be particularly useful for the average person. This light is not for fine detailed work like putting on shoes at a campsite or reading signs at night... this is more useful for illuminating a small field and ensuring nothing unpleasant is lerking in it. It is like a car headlight in your hand. It is also probably suitable as a club. Fun, and useful for some people. ... show more

I wish I could give this flashlight a higher review; it looks good and feels good in the hand, solid construction (aluminum alloy maybe?), and decently bright. The problem is that the battery doesn’t last as long as it should, and it seems like mine takes forever to charge. It might be that it wasn’t charged all the way up when I first used it, but on the brightest setting I don’t think it lasted even an hour before it died. When I went to charge it up, I left it charging all afternoon and then all night when I went to bed. Only after that did it indicate that it was fully charged. ... show more
