Tried several different feeder configurations for my elderly cat (21-yrs). This one hit the mark on all counts. I have to feed him his meals inside a large dog crate to keep the other pets away from him while he eats (so he can be relaxed and get all his food). This unit slips easily into the crate with both bowls in place (one for soft food, one for dry). Clean up is a breeze because it confines spills, so no more do I have to get down on my hands and knees to reach to the back of the crate after every meal. Also, the high sides shield his food from the long-reaching paws of my two young cats trying to snatch his food through the bars of the crate. And it raises the food so he can eat easier and with less mess (he is 21-yrs old afterall, that's like 100 in kitty-years). Oh, and his regular bowls I was using fit nicely into the holes in this one, so I don't need to use the metal ones that came with it; we can keep using his ceramic bowls (which is nice since I often warm his wet food just a bit in the microwave first). ... show more

I bought this because I have an American XL Bully that leaves a pool everyone he drinks. I was in hopes this would help. As he drinks, he doesn’t have to lower his head as much which actually has helped with the pools of water after each drinking. It’s very well made, sturdy, an excellent height, and most of all……. FAR LESS SLOBBER on the floor which means less mopping every few minutes. It does come with metal bowls which sit at a slight angle, the one bowl seems to be a bit larger than the other bowl which makes it a tiny bit difficult to replace when full of water, but other than that it’s awesome. At the bottom (under the metal dishes) is where the water drains into it when my Bully drinks. This does need to be emptied periodically, but it’s far better than sliding in the left behind pools every five minutes. ... show more

I bought this and initially all was well. The tag on my dogs collar got stuck in the plastic, taking the entire dish with her. Water and food everywhere. She will no longer eat and drink from it. Scared her so badly she won't sleep on her pillow and has much anxiety. Her behavior in the last 48 hours I have never seen by any dog over my 60 years. She is scared to death. The product worked well until this occurrence. Perhaps in the design make it solid on the top to avoid dog tags getting caught in the open space. She is a large lab. I am sad that she acts traumatized as this was the first product that I didn't have water all over my floor, but I cannot use it due to her new fear and won't do that to her. ... show more

We have a border collie mix, about 50 lbs, and got the medium size. The medium's bowl sizes are big enough for him and it does not take up too much floor space. He is a messy drinker and this works much better than any mat or towel I have tried- mainly because of the back height which prevents water splashing onto the wall & floor behind his bowl. We have a 180 pound Great Dane and he is constantly pushing his food out of the bowl making a mess on the floor. We bought him the XL feeder and our littler pups the medium feeder because he does it to their food as well. No more food on the floor. Thank you for a great product!

    • Please reconsider your labeling practices!!
Great product, easy assembly and very sturdy, but the labels at the bottom of the water bowl are very problematic. I work for a label manufacturer and have concerns about exposing my dog to the chemicals in your permanent adhesive. I called the manufacturer and they could not provide me with a data sheet on the chemicals but did kindly offer to replace the bowl. I appreciate the replacement but am sincerely concerned about other pets who are being exposed to these chemicals.
