Bad Ass Kit (topgun) BUT NOT FOR THE MECHANICALLY TIMID. You have to be able to think. Pros: When you get this product, you realize it's better than expected. This is a high performance product! Cons: There were no assembly instructions at all. Fortunately, I've been an aircraft mechanic 20 years, so I was able to install everything and even splice my old ebike throttle and brakes into this installation. It worked❗It was still a pain to figure everything out. The whole job took me about 6 hours (taking my time). Advice: be very careful when handling the controller wires (the power terminals) after connecting the battery, because it will shock you or spark even if you have disconnected the battery. Also, once everything is connected, you MUST turn on the display unit and go to system settings (double press "M"), and change the voltage to the voltage of your battery. My bike was sluggish at first, but after changing the settings, it was quick as fk. ... show more

This kit has worked great for me, so far I have done 500 miles of 50 percent on road 50 percent off road riding on my custom build. Be aware that if you are doing a lot of off road riding, and you are regularly drawing the full 80A current on the controller (~5000W), you will have issues with the motor overheating and you will need statorade and hubsinks. With the improved cooling this thing totally rips, has plenty of torque for getting up hills, going in sand, etc. This is pretty much the biggest hub motor that you can put on a normal 135mm dropout bike, and mine only barely clears the brake caliper, so be aware you might need to do a bit of filing to get everthing working, and of course I would recommend installing 2 proper torque arms, one on each side rather than just 1 to avoid ruining your soft aluminum dropouts. The motor is totally silent with this controller which is very nice, extremely stealthy. ... show more

The kit is an excellent fit for someone who wants to have a high top speed and get there fast! Be warned that the controller is 80A continuous so it will pull closer to 5-6,000watts! My 72v19.2ah battery gets very warm when I run the bike hard. But that is my fault for not buying the battery that the seller offered (I got the battery first and should have just paid the shipping to return it to buy theirs) Use the include torque arm and consider getting a second one. It has so much torque I almost spun it out of the dropout when I first installed it (Didnt make sure everything was tight enough) I hit a top speed of 55mph but I am almost certain that is a limitation of my battery. Get the highest quality tires you can find. I have a Schwalbe Super Moto-X on it and even then it is barely up to the task of this beast of a hubmotor! I would definitely recommend this kit to a friend and find the seller to be very easy to work with ... show more

The most noteworthy thing about this purchase is the excellent customer service by the seller, all my questions and concerns were answered quick and professionally! This is my first eBike but over the years I've built many two-stroke motorized bikes and a few four strokes.. but the comparison is night and day. This kit is very well constructed, the wheel and hub are more like a motorcycle then a bicycle wheel. Even though the hub motor is a single speed gear I was able to keep both derailers on the bike and shift through three speeds via the front chain ring. The performance of this kit is unbelievable the acceleration is twice of any two-stroke motorized bike I've built in the past and is very smooth and quiet! I'm very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend this company, you won't be disappointed! ... show more

Product is good reliable however, the wheel hub itself is poorly put together the spokes that come from the hub to the rim are very low-grade for 15 months and had to replace two spokes and brand new from the factory. The rim was not true. Had a wash to it. I had a local bike shop straighten it as best as possible, so buyer beware. ... show more

After enjoying the 2000w hub (by NBPower) for a year, it was time for an upgrade. I purchased the 3000w a month ago and it has been working great so far! This is a powerful motor, I would definitely recommend for responsible individuals only. Take it slow at first and get the feel of it, as it can be jumpy, but not a big deal. Happy with NBPower especially the customer service! Anne is wonderful! She will help you in any way and is always prompt in response, by the following morning. Looking to upgrade my battery now, more power = more capacity. Presently 72v 20ah, would like to get a 40ah, (to solve “range anxiety”!)
