  • Fingers crossed this works.
Currently set out on ground level facing south. We have several bumblebees in the area. Hoping this works. I made the nest with an old birds nest, leaf mulch and my doodle dogs hair. Would’ve like to get a mouse nest put in there as that’s what attracts them but didn’t get to the pet store. Will update if I get a colony. To answer people’s questions. They’re is a hole in the divider wood for the queen to crawl through. Two all vent holes are located on what I assume is the nest side of the box opposite of the entrance. ... show more

  • For the bumblebee
we had neighbors who cleaned up their yard which included forcing out a bumblebee. At first I thought it was dead but it was cold from the winter. We looked at lots of housing for it and this was the best. So we gave it a new nest to last thru the winter. It could not be inside the house or it would have perished from lack of food. This was an endangered variety of bee here in the Central Valley so it was worth trying to save it. We won't know for another month or two if it made it. Update: She made it thru the winter. We saw her on flowers near the box this spring, and the house is empty now where we last saw her. She has been coming by a lot lately so she has a brood somewhere. Maybe in the box, I leave it alone so not to disturb her it she is still using it. ... show more

  • Damaged, no instructions
There was no padding in the shipping parcel, so the screws securing the lid of this bee box has stripped and popped out. It was easy enough to find new, bigger screws to fix it, but I should not have had to do that. There were no instructions included on what to do with the PVC tube that’s provided, or how to set up the box with bedding material. The box itself is roughly constructed. One corner does not fully connect. I’m disappointed. The product is serviceable, but poor quality. ... show more

  • I love bumblebees. I haven’t purchased this yet so 3 stars for affordability
I’m interested in this little habitat but need to know the following please: Is there a hole for the bumblebee to go from the entrance area into the nesting area ? I don’t see one or does the divider wall have a gap they crawl over or under? Are there more air holes besides the entrance? Is glue used in the construction? What is the circumference of the pipe entry? Thank you in advance for responding ... show more
