The smell reminds me of when I used to drive through the orange orchards in Central Florida as a kid with my family to get to Disney World. It's fresh and delicious and works very well in my diffuser. Just lovely.

This arrived with a broken cap, but the rubber part was still intact, so no leaks! It does make it really hard to remove the bottle cap. It was in it's own box, so I'm assuming it was a return or it was packed with a broken cover. The box was totally fine. Other than that, the item is good and the price is much better on these large bottles. It smells the same as dried basil smells, a little bit sweet. update: tried it in a diffuser. Smells like black licorice to the family. Nobody likes it. We would not buy again. ... show more

I bought this oil because the studio where I go for mega reformer class uses this for the cold towels they offer at the end and they smell AMAZING! So there you have it. I intend to ride my Peloton here at home and enjoy a cold towel afterwards.

I enjoy diffusing essential oils and creating my own roller blends but I keep coming across recipes calling for basil oil so I ordered this to augment my ever growing collection of oils. This oil comes in a nice amber glass bottle and includes an equally nice glass dropper. The oil appears to be clean, and has a bit of a sweet herbal aroma. It comes from India and claims to be 100% pure basil essential oil. Unlike some other basil oils, this oil is not food grade. It is for external use only and should be diluted with a carrier oil. I personally prefer fractionated coconut oil for that purpose. The expiration date on my bottle is two years out. If you are interested in using basil essential oil, Pinterest is a great source for roller and diffuser recipes. This particular oil seems fine to me, but obviously, as with other oils, I can't vouch for purity. That said, I am comfortable using this in both diffuser and roller blends and will discontinue use should I note any adverse reactions. ... show more
