I’m used to spending a lot more money on a tent; however this is right in the same league as the expensive tents. The material is a little thinner, but that does not affect the performance. The stitching and attachment points are really well reinforced. Four days of rain and it stays dry. I really like the included footprint. Zippers work well and there are plenty of tie off points for really getting this taut and secure. This packs easily, but the bag could be about 5% larger to allow rolling this up with the footprint on the tent. The tent is roomy and I like the hook inside in the ceiling - perfectly placed for a light. The reflective parts are a nice detail. And, this takes seconds to setup and tear down. We took this tent on a 5 day backpacking adventure and were pleased every night with it. It is quick to set up and take down. Each day, we had 15 to 20 mph winds and the tent held perfectly. For our first trip on the AT, we had to invest in a 2 person tent. Naturally we wanted something light, but didn’t want to drop mucho $$$ on a tent as newbies. I looked into REI and EMS for comparably priced tents, but they were much heavier than the Naturehike. It was great on the trail, easy to set up, rain-fly worked well, loved that it had it’s own footprint that clipped in easily, and was close but comfortable to sleep 2. The only thing we had to be gentle with the zipper per other reviews, and it can snag if you don’t pay attention, but we never had any problems with it. Took this backpacking and was very happy with the weight and easy set up. My only complaint is that the door zipper is not great quality, catches alot and is hard to operate quickly to keep the bugs out.

    • An Excellent Budget Backpacking Tent

I’ve only camped in it for one night, but I was very impressed by the value in this tent! Pros - Very easy to set up - did well in moderate/high winds - good amount of headroom - well designed clip system to keep everything together Cons - a little noisy in winds if not staked down extremely taught - only a two person tent if you’re a couple/very comfortable with the other person - low quality stakes included with the tent break easily Setup was really a breeze; I was gassed after hiking in, but had no issues getting my tent up and assembled. A couple of the stakes broke while trying to pound them into the ground, but the guy lines were long enough to loop around rocks instead. With everything staked out, the inside stayed free from condensation, and other than some noise, I had no issues with stability in moderate winds. There’s a single storage pocket above the door that was perfect for my phone and glasses, and a very nifty vent at the foot end that consists of a rod in a velcro strip that keeps the vent propped open. As one 6ft person in the tent, I was very comfortable, though I felt like I was touching both ends of the tent when I was sleeping, so anyone much taller than me may feel cramped. It would also be very cozy if there had been a second person in the tent with me, so don’t plan on sharing it with someone unless you’ll be okay with touching each other while sleeping. While I can’t speak for durability of the tent because I only had it out for one night, I’m extremely impressed by this tent for the price. It seems as though it will last me for many more trips; the zippers didn’t bind, it kept me dry and protected from the wind, and set up was quick and easy. If you’re looking for a budget backpacking tent, this is an excellent option, just make sure to bring a few extra stakes. ... show more

This 2P tent was very easy to assemble, only taking about 10 minutes to put together. I purchased this tent for my 24-hour pack because it was inexpensive, but had great reviews. My 2 year old wanted to camp, so I threw it up in the backyard and we had a blast. It easily fit me, my toddler, and my 55-liter bag. I’m 5’11” and 230 lbs and was able to stretch out with no problem.
