I’ve ordered the 5 lb box before but in the 1/2” size and it was a good amount and selection. This time I got the 5 lb 3/4” and it was even better. There were about 300 stones and the variety was amazing. We got tigers eye, amethyst, rose quartz, regular quartz, gray chalcedony, dragons blood, beautiful red jasper and agates, sodalite, blue quartz, citrine, rose quartz, magnesite, rhodonite, aventurine, moss agate, carnelian, snow flake obsidian, black obsidian, unakite, Dalmatian jasper, hematite and yellow jasper. Most bulk orders are really heavy on one type of mineral like quartz, but this was just the right amount of each. It also comes with a mineral ID poster and learning guide! I am an Earth Science teacher and I order these for a Gumball machine I have in my classroom. Students can get a stone for $0.25. The stones are good sized and mostly tumbled. Smooth to the touch with good color. This box had more examples of quartz and tiger eye than some other stones. But overall a good variety to be had.

Nice selection of gem stones. I bought this set for my nieces as they are interested in looking for "pretty" stones. They spent a full afternoon sorting through and reading about each one. Very educational, I would recommend this as a rainey day activity.

I have a six-year-old and a three year-old, they both loved this. I have to warn you, it gets really messy so make sure to lay some cardboard or a sheet or some newspaper down underneath. This is now a go to for birthday gifts and I plan on doing this as an activity for my kids at the next birthday party for my kids. Also, make sure you have a spray bottle handy so you’re not there for an hour. You just keep saturating the clay and it will degrade so they can get to the gemstones faster. ... show more
