These actually feel cool when you touch them. Of course, they will feel warm if your pet lays on them a long time, but will feel cool once your pet gets off for about 15 minutes. I bought two so my cat can alternate between the two. I've already had to wash one and washing it did not decrease the effectiveness. I'll purchase these again in the future. I'm sorry but the blanket is not cool at all. It looks good is well made but it does not keep my cat comfortable. He rather sit on my table top than the blanket. I even use it on top of my pillow but did not keep me cool.
