My dog recently had surgery and cannot walk, so she is being put in a doggy stroller to get some outdoor time and fresh air. I use this for her to sit on to help keep her cool in the summer heat. It does help keep her more comfortable and is noticeably cool to the touch. It is quite thin and lightweight, so it tends to bunch up under her. Putting a firmer blanket underneath seems to help some, a nonskid design would better. Smaller dogs may not have as much issue though. Overall it's been a good purchase. I bought 2 small sizes and 1 medium size. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat. All 3 love these silky cool lightweight mats. They seem to stay cool on hot days and are the go-to spots for all 3 pets. It isn't even hot right now & both of my cats LOVE these cooling mats. They aren't that big, check measurements, but are perfect size. Seem well made & are silky and cool to the touch. LOVE the fabric-sharks & lemonade. Good value for price even being just a thin piece of fabric =) Hoping they will continue to feel cool as weather warms up. Would recommend & buy again ... show more

    • "Cooling" is a bit of an exaggeration!

These pads are moderately cool upon 1st contact & they don't necessarily heat up IMMEDIATELY... but after about 5 minutes of constant contact w/ body heat, they become QUITE hot & remain HOT for the duration of contact. THE ONLY REASON the headline of my review wasn't something more like "negative 3 stars, at least!" is due to the fact that the pads have proven to be cool to the touch w/in less than a second or 2 after the contact w/ body heat has been removed. My cat lays on them for about 5-10 minutes before the pad becomes unbearably hot & then she takes off in search of a cooler place to nap. When she 1st gets on the pad it feels cool for a few, fleeting moments but it quickly heats up & stays hot for the duration of her nap... once she has gotten up in search of relief from the HEATING pad... it will become cool again fairly immediately. So, at best... it's more like a heat-on-contact, retaining pad w/ the ability to become cool immediately AFTER contact has ceased... NOT RECOMMENDED! Performance: NEGATIVE 5 stars Durability: seems like it's fairly well made but no one will ever know how well it could hold up under constant use because it's useless! Appearance: looks as advertised. Stability!?! Pshhh! It's a stable HEAT source! ... show more

This blanket really is cooling. My pups were unsure of it at first but once they did lay on it , and realized it was cooling they use it all the time. With the very high temps outside here right now ,they get pretty hot running around and playing . This blanket is very welcoming to cool them down. It is soft and silky and has a good price point.
